Overview

The Review

Just an hour or so from cosmopolitan Hong Kong, Shenzhen was once known as the Middle Kingdom’s industrial hub. Today the city is the home and playground of some of China’s wealthiest people and a spa destination for weary urbanites from Hong Kong.

The Futian Shangri-La, in the center of Shenzhen’s business district, is an oasis amid the urban chaos, offering the brand’s world-class service alongside three dining venues and nearly 10,000 square feet of spa and health club facilities.

Each of the 548 guestrooms has a 37-inch wall-mounted plasma TV, and a 15-inch LCD TV by the bathtub as well; the tub is complemented by a separate rainfall shower.

There are four on-site dining venues: the Shang Garden, a casual spot serving Cantonese and Huaiyang cuisine; Café Zen, an open-kitchen buffet offering Hong Kong specialties and local favorites; Fook Lam Moon, which specializes in upscale private dining; and the Lobby Lounge, where quick drinks and bar bites are accompanied by live music from 8 p.m. to midnight daily.

The Futian Shangri-La’s eight-room spa offers treatments based on both Eastern and Western philosophies. If the massages and facials aren’t enough to bring back your Zen, the rest of the health club facilities — the indoor pool, tennis courts, sauna and Jacuzzi — can keep you busy for hours.

An excellent luxury hotel
Reviewed 10 hours ago

I stayed in this hotel for one night. The room is spacious and the bed is comfortable. The service is good and polite. As a jade member, I got a free complimentary breakfast that provides a wide variety of food. However, the restaurant was a bit crowded during the peak hour in the morning. Overall, I highly recommend this property.

Ideal hotel to experience highspeed rail at Futian
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The hotel is just next to the Futian Highspeed rail. Therefore very convenient to tourists who take the highspeed rail as means of traffic. Many good restaurants around. Comparatively more peaceful than Luohu. Can also take underground train to other places of attractions.

Staff are polite and helpful. We met Fiona Li at the executive floor reception. She is very polite and provide useful information to us.

The indoor swimming pool is very good. Opens till 11 pm (certainly allows time for bathing and get ready to leave before 11 pm)

However, local tourists talk loudly inside the restaurants, esp during the breakfast buffet ,or elsewhere in the hotel. Should have more understanding.

Shangri la Shenzhen great experience

We stayed at Shangri-La Shenzhen and was very impressed by manager Mr Goh Huan Yeang’s great customer service. Our stay was enjoyable because he took time to find out our breakfast needs and provide good tips on Shen Zhen travel. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful.
