The Review

Just an hour or so from cosmopolitan Hong Kong, Shenzhen was once known as the Middle Kingdom’s industrial hub. Today the city is the home and playground of some of China’s wealthiest people and a spa destination for weary urbanites from Hong Kong.

The Futian Shangri-La, in the center of Shenzhen’s business district, is an oasis amid the urban chaos, offering the brand’s world-class service alongside three dining venues and nearly 10,000 square feet of spa and health club facilities.

Each of the 548 guestrooms has a 37-inch wall-mounted plasma TV, and a 15-inch LCD TV by the bathtub as well; the tub is complemented by a separate rainfall shower.

There are four on-site dining venues: the Shang Garden, a casual spot serving Cantonese and Huaiyang cuisine; Café Zen, an open-kitchen buffet offering Hong Kong specialties and local favorites; Fook Lam Moon, which specializes in upscale private dining; and the Lobby Lounge, where quick drinks and bar bites are accompanied by live music from 8 p.m. to midnight daily.

The Futian Shangri-La’s eight-room spa offers treatments based on both Eastern and Western philosophies. If the massages and facials aren’t enough to bring back your Zen, the rest of the health club facilities — the indoor pool, tennis courts, sauna and Jacuzzi — can keep you busy for hours.

Very well manage

Over 100 nights and numerous stays during the past 2 and a half years, as an ordinary guest like me, I was surprised that the new general manager, Mr. Sinan Yilmaz personally greeted me at the Horizon club lounge.
Besides, I observed that all of the staffs are very well trained and improving, from concierge, hotel security, front desk, lobby lounge, Zen cafe, housekeeping, gym and swimming pool, etc.
Specifically Horizon club's staffs, treated me like family, warm and caring.
Although this hotel is 10 years of operation, facilities are well maintained.
Deserve to the highest qualities of 'Shang' brand without doubt.

Annual Conference (>120 people)

I recently co-ordinated my company’s biennial finance director conference at the Futian Shangri-la. We chose this hotel because of its great facilities and convenient location (right above the high speed rail station). We had very senior executives from across the world attending, and it was thus of great importance that everything ran smoothly.

I’m glad to say that the conference was indeed a great success, not least of all because the Shangri-la events team was terrific. They were immaculate in their organisation and attentiveness. Very much on top of all logistical aspects, which reduced the burden on myself and the organising team. They had a full fledged team looking after all aspects of the conference. I could not commend them more for their professionalism and excellence.

We dealt with an events manager by the name of Anita. She was wonderful - clearly very experienced.

Would highly recommend any company holding a conference in Shenzhen to consider this hotel.

Convenient Location

I chose this hotel again just because it is located next to the high speed train station. I only spent less than an hour from my office in Hong Kong to the hotel.

The room was clean and the size was much bigger than what I stayed in other 5 star hotels in Shenzhen before. I also found that the service standard was high too. I believe I would come back to this hotel in the coming future.
