Room not as advertised! Be careful!
Reviewed 3 days ago

My husband and I rented a condo here in Jan 2019 through Expedia.
The pictures and descriptions did not depict what we got AT ALL!
Room was NOT as stated and NOT AT ALL like any pictures shown on the site.
Room was VERY dated, no hot water 1st day, refrigerator was leaking, no "garden view" only a view of the parking lot.
Tried to change rooms and we were told it would be an additional cost of $100 US per night!!
Other people staying in the same condo had beautiful rooms with balcony and views.
Totally unacceptable, we were very displeased!!
The rest of the resort was lovely, but I would rent from AirBNB or VRBO, so you know what you're getting.

Really unique property with great amenities!

We rented a condo and loved our stay! We spent most of our days at the beach club both on the beach and at the pool. It’s a beautiful pool and also a beautiful beach! The ammenities for the complex were great - there’s a gym, spa, golf, free SUP and Kayaks, and a great restaurant. The service was often slow at lunch, and that could be improved, but we really liked the food at the restaurant - they offer a lot of options and everything was very fresh.

There’s also nature walks/hikes and bikes available for guests on the property. The property is also shared with the Westin and the W - the Westin you could pay a resort fee and access their property if interested as well. We stayed in the Bougainvillea condo “neighborhood” which also has their own smaller clubhouse and pool.

We also enjoyed the location. While there is so much to do on the Reserva Conchal property and you don’t need to leave, we did have a rental car and were able to drive to some great restaurants in the area for dinner - there are many good ones within 5 minutes of the condo, but we also went to playa flamingo (~10 min) and also spent a night in Tamarindo (~20 min). We also did two different excursions - we spent a day up near Rincon de vieja (booked excursion 2-3 hour drive to the north side of the volcano), and also did a scuba trip right at the Catalina Islands near the property.

Great Wedding in a Great Place

We are very happy for how everything went. All the coordination with our Wedding Planner Barbara from 419weddings and Laura Cordoba from Reserva Conchal was awsome. Both worked a lot and helped us with every detail and question we had regarding all the group reservations, food and beverage requeriments and extra recommendations. During our wedding, Laura was taking care of every detail about the service and food. The service was great and the food was Awsome. We are very happy and we recommend very much Reserva Conchal for your vacations and/or wedding.

Spectacular place for a Costa Rica Vacation

The place is beautiful, beach front, and good size. The pools are excellent if you want to swim in the morning and for playing with the kids. It is a family place, but don't look full beach of the great size of the place. The restaurant is very good, food is delicious, the service is great. It offers a variety of water sport, if you are interested on kayak, paddle boar, body boar, snorkeling. If you are staying in Reserva Conchal you will enjoy it very much.

Customer service at the beach club killed this review.

This is our second year at Reserva Conchal. Last year was so amazing, my friends, daughters and I decided to make it an annual thing. After this year, we will most likely be changing the destination of our girls' trip. With the exception of one of our evening meals out of five, the bills were always wrong and it took longer than it should have to get them brought to us and then corrected. To make things easier on the server, we always ordered drinks and meal at the same time to make the billing process smoother. One evening I sat at our table for an hour waiting for the checks and everyone else left to go to the Imperial without me. An hour, for 6 checks. The restaurant was not that crowded and the waitress was standing at the register for that long, we even went up to her to ask if we could help since there were 8 of us and 6 different checks. She assured us she did not need any help sorting it out.

The food was yummy, with the exception of Asian/Sushi night, and the prices are reasonable for the amount of food you receive.

It was a big bummer there were no beach chairs on the beach this year. I don't know if that was a beach rule change or a resort rule change :/
