With its sparkling exterior, you can’t miss this hotel at night. Inside, light remains a major theme; the lobby’s huge color-changing crystal chandelier blends the French fleur-de-lis with the kapok, Guangzhou’s floral emblem. Ruby-red lacquered vases, lampshades, chandeliers and flowers add daring accents throughout.
Bed and Bath
With upholstered headboards, framed photographs (black-and-white, with a splash of red), rich fabrics and sculptural furniture, the guestrooms have a distinctly Parisian vibe — especially with poetic phrases woven into the carpet. Luxuriate in Sofitel’s signature MyBed. The bathrooms feature a deep tub and separate shower; the toiletries come from Hermès.
Le Grill is as upmarket as steakhouses come — think ultra-prime cuts seared on an Argentine-style grill. Near the lobby the Mar-Tea-Ni Bar’s tea sommelier can recommend a specialist brew; those who require something stiffer can try tea-inspired cocktails. The nail bar offers champagne along with manicures and pedicures.
In the Area
Tianhe is home to Redtory — an art and design center in what was once Asia’s largest canned-food factory. Towering, twisted Canton Tower is colloquially known as Xiao Man’s Waist — a reference to a svelte Tang dynasty geisha. Head to its observation deck — 1,500 feet aboveground — for a bird’s-eye view of this sprawling Pearl River Delta metropolis or to use the lofty post office. Bubble cars circumnavigate its roof. Wander the tree-lined, sculpture-filled avenues of colonial Shamian Island; its charm makes it a popular backdrop for wedding and fashion photographs.
How to Get There
The customer service team made a great arrangement for my whole stay with welcome drinks and decoration for valentines’s day. the location is near major malls and stations. Live music was at ground floor bar every night
The room comes in a good size with spacious bathroom. Lavin toiletries are provided in the hotel room. As for breakfast, there is a wide spread of variety but it seems to be quite crowded and no one attended to me after I entered into the restaurant. I have to find my own seat and ask for my tea to be served a few times.
Location wise... it's taxi ride everywhere we go. I don't see anything near by.
The concierge service was good, particularly the staff (wilson) who assisted us to get our ride to the airport and even provided us a bottle of water each for the journey to the airport.
Had a great experience with the hospitality of the Hotel. That was topped with a great 90 minute massage at the Spa with the great masseuse Lisa that was able to relieve me from my back pain that I have been suffering from all week traveling for business around China.
Highly recommended and will definitely be back for another session.
Thanks Sofitel for the great experience and thank you Lisa for your professional service.
My family and I was at the Sofitel for the end of 2018. First time for my son to move to Guangzhou, we stayed a few days.
That was a real pleasure to discover during the check-in, we had chosen to be a special client. That why we enjoyed free things (better room, private club access…)
Matthias was here to explain us everything and take care of us. He was really professional, stay discreet and helpful at once. Tahnk you so much !
