With its sparkling exterior, you can’t miss this hotel at night. Inside, light remains a major theme; the lobby’s huge color-changing crystal chandelier blends the French fleur-de-lis with the kapok, Guangzhou’s floral emblem. Ruby-red lacquered vases, lampshades, chandeliers and flowers add daring accents throughout.
Bed and Bath
With upholstered headboards, framed photographs (black-and-white, with a splash of red), rich fabrics and sculptural furniture, the guestrooms have a distinctly Parisian vibe — especially with poetic phrases woven into the carpet. Luxuriate in Sofitel’s signature MyBed. The bathrooms feature a deep tub and separate shower; the toiletries come from Hermès.
Le Grill is as upmarket as steakhouses come — think ultra-prime cuts seared on an Argentine-style grill. Near the lobby the Mar-Tea-Ni Bar’s tea sommelier can recommend a specialist brew; those who require something stiffer can try tea-inspired cocktails. The nail bar offers champagne along with manicures and pedicures.
In the Area
Tianhe is home to Redtory — an art and design center in what was once Asia’s largest canned-food factory. Towering, twisted Canton Tower is colloquially known as Xiao Man’s Waist — a reference to a svelte Tang dynasty geisha. Head to its observation deck — 1,500 feet aboveground — for a bird’s-eye view of this sprawling Pearl River Delta metropolis or to use the lofty post office. Bubble cars circumnavigate its roof. Wander the tree-lined, sculpture-filled avenues of colonial Shamian Island; its charm makes it a popular backdrop for wedding and fashion photographs.
How to Get There
I always had a very warm welcome at the hotel , the staffs are very helpful and caring.
On 29th Floor , I always had a very treat.
Albert Li , Icy , cyan also other staffs are really good at their work . Wonderful time at 29th Floor.
SOFITEL is not only clean but very stylish at the same time....
Also, it has the best hotel staff in Guangzhou. Especially, Lao Gahui ( ERIKA ) @ the front desk in lobby. Very attentive, helpful & in tune with the big picture.
I already wanna go back just to see them!
Love the good lap size indoor swimming pool too & don’t forget to try their delicious burger on the 2nd floor restaurant, extremely juicy & yummy.....
We stayed in Sofitel before as well and there where always some minor points what’s not reaching the expectations.
Last visit in October this year was really far below and that’s why I decided to write a review on trip Advisor
We had send our complaints / experience to the team and it seems they certainly not know what Hospitality means and how to deal with a complain.
Several emails are back and forth and the only what they can say we are looking forward to see you in April , let us know.
This hotel takes more care about how to make revenue then how to solve issues and make a client happy. ( so guest night return )
For us and our business group after our recent stay and how the hotel team is giving take care on serious complaints made us never wanting to stay again.
Think first if you wanna book this hotel coz the service and quality of the experience might certain not reach your expectations, specially not during a fair season.
Cozy hotel with excellent service.
Friendly staff at the executive lounge. (Icy, Hillary, Allison, Jayden)
Location is very convenient. I believe it is a good choice no matter for business traveller or just for sightseeing.
Reasonably priced. Suggest to book the executive floor rooms or suites. The lounge is among the best in Guangzhou.
What can I say? I've not been disappointed by this hotel yet. Every visit is fulfilling. Fantastically, because of my Platinum membership, upgraded to a corner suite, a first at this hotel. Very luxurious indeed: spaceous and comfortable with tasteful decor; the bedroom itself could be a bit bigger but that's nitpicking.
Since I've reviewed this property more than once and do not intend to repeat many of the positive points, all I can say is most people would be happy to stay here.
Ms. Icy Chen must be doing a great job as staff turnover in the Club Millesime has been high yet the new members are doing a more than competent duty. Everyone's so courteous and welcoming. Special mentions must go to Albert Li, Jaden, and Letty, though new to Club, have proven their ability to think on their feet and be welcoming and warm all at once.
I look forward to returning!
