How to Get There
I have stayed for only one night but enough to enjoy such a beautiful place. Excellent service, location and breakfast is great. 100% recommended for a short getaway to meet the precious San Miguel de Allende. I will definitely come back!
A very fine and well designed hotel with an exquisite Enrique Olvera's restaurant, Moxi.
Recommend to ask for a room far from the bar since at night might be noisy.
Recommended for couples not for children.
I really can’t say enough great things about this hotel and our experience here in San Miguel Allende.
From my first contact via email to
The hotel concierge, they were fantastic! They answered each and every silly question, booked our transportation from the airport and all of our dinner reservations. Being my daughter and I were coming to San Miguel Allende for the first time, we were a little scared as all we hear in the USA is about the drug cartel and all of the shooting. Well, the concierge told me the truth about that and for
me not to worry at all, because that is happening way up north, not at all in San Miguel. And, right they were—-this place is a slice of heaven without any crime or any need to feel insecure. But, my point is, this hotel cares about you and your experience here. We were treated like family the second we checked in to the moment we left.
Hotel Matilda is gorgeous! I am an Interior Designer in Los Angeles that specializes in high end custom window treatments so I have seen it all- done it all. Whoever designed this hotel is fantastic from the lobby to the dining area to the guest rooms. The bedding is high quality with a high thread count, the towels and robes and yummy and the toiletries are high end.
Ok- here are a few things I loved loved about the hotel and our experiences.
1- while walking around town one day it started pouring and we were without an umbrella. We barely knew where we were at the time but quickly ran into the first hotel we saw to see how we could get an umbrella. They called Hotel Matilda and they told them to give us an umbrella to
Use and they would return it!!!! And, the second we got back to the hotel, they were good to their word, they took it back. Who does that?
2- The front desk watches your coming and going. We were always greeted by our names and this alone made us feel so safe and secure.
3- When sitting in the lobby, without asking, they brought us a refreshing drink just because.
4- The gym is absolutely perfect. I work out three times a week with a trainer at our gym and this one is even better. Shocker- everything works!
Book this hotel without hesitation. You will be treated like family.
My boyfriend and I returned from the most wonderful visit to San Miguel de Allende and it was made especially magical by our choice to stay at Hotel Matilda. I really don’t have enough wonderful things to say about this property. The minute you walk into the lobby, you are transported to a hidden oasis. From the chic lobby and bar, perfectly manicured grounds, and beautiful, spacious room, everything is perfectly done. The restaurant is delicious and the spa is wonderful. What stood out to us most though was the service. Our every whim was catered to expertly. The front desk staff could not have been more helpful, housekeeping kept everything pristine and the waitstaff, bartenders and spa staff spoiled us rotten!! Thank you hotel Matilda for an unforgettable stay! We will be back!!
We had our second event at Hotel Matilda and are extremely pleased with Jazmin and her staff who goes the extra mile to make sure we are a happy group. We're a small group of 18 so the size of the room was perfect to accommodate us and they rented a tent for us for the patio.
We had a fixed menu for two lunches and for dinner. Each meal had a complimentary tostada (delicious!), an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Dinner was four courses with wine pairing.
It's nice to return to a familiar place and have the event specialist understand our needs from the previous event.
If I had one thing that could be improved it would be that the wifi wasn't working in some or all of the hotel rooms. We had encouraged people in our group to stay at the hotel and since this was a working event, wifi was definitely a must for those staying at the hotel. I did hear that the hotel staff was very accommodating to one of our attendees who was not feeling well.
We look forward to returning to Hotel Matilda for our next event!
