How to Get There
This hotel had a nice vibe and the staff was Genuinely nice not just being nice because it’s their job. We thought the room was comfortable. We are a family of four(2 kids) and had plenty of space in the room, the beds were comfortable and it had a real cool Mexican architectural feel. The staff also drove us to downtown and then picked us up when we were ready to leave. The food and the service at the little restaurant was excellent. As for the city of San Miguel Allende, it was a fantastic place that we cannot wait to visit again. Super cool place. We will stay here again!
First of all, I need to mention that I didn't pay for our stay as it was arranged by my boyfriend's family so I can't complain much. A beautiful Mexican style hotel with exquisite rooms. There were couple of things though that I'd like to mention.
In San Miguel can be very cold at nights, so in the room and especially in the common areas including restaurant can be quite cold so having warm clothes will be very useful (breakfast in the coat was a bit surprising).
Now, breakfast. If you have any plans for the day make sure you leave enough time for breakfast. When we sat at the table we were told that it will take 30-40 min to prepare our breakfast. Nonetheless, it was lovely one.
I had a shower around midnight and it was cold. Not sure why, but when outside is +8 and in the room is barely 17 degrees, it was really refreshing.
Having said that, the style of the building is quite distinguished. The stairs are unbelievaby beautiful. I am not sure how old it is but I love history and it seems to be a perfect place for me. I really felt like in real Mexico. I am from England so this was amazing despite the above named issues. The bed was so comfortable, I din't want to leave it. The room was massive with a separate sitting area. The design of the rooms is exquisite. You have everything in the room, a heater to warm it up, a proper hairdryer and a coffee machine making a very nice espresso.
A big benefit is the shuttle to the centre. As the hotel is far from the centre and on the top of a hill, it is very useful. The driver was very nice guy, chatting us through the city, taking very narrow steep roads of San Miguel which was another unforgettable experience in this fabulous city.
Great service, very friendly staff, clean installation, they offer free shuttle to Downtown (ask for hours at the front desk)also is the pick up point for Hot Air Balloon (Vuela en globo) they have also a restaurant and bar. (Not 24/7) We choose this location for our wedding anniversary, very private and very affordable...
We have stayed at the hotel in the past and dined at the restaurant as guests and on other occasions. It’s been some time but had a cozy dinner with friends last evening. As always the staff was warm and welcoming. They immediately started the fire place upon request. The meal was delicious and beautifully presented. The pork filet was especially good. Generous piece of loin in a sauce served with potato gratin and a nice julienned mixed vegetable. The standout was the cheesecake. A generous portion, light and creamy. Served with a delicious sauce, strawberries and blackberries. We plan to visit again soon!
Entering the city we find this nice colonial style hotel, very clean. Beds are very comfortable. Great to relax. Food is good. There is a nice patio with a small fountain that helps you relax. Personnel very kind: Martín, Paola, Daniela. They have a small van that takes you to downtown and picks you up. Runs every hour. The only thing we dis not like is that the pool and jacuzzi were out of service for mantainance (anyways both are outdoors and the weather was very cold) and there is no gym so the hotel has no activities. Good price, convenient.
