Set right on an award-winning Blue Flag beach on the northern coast of Crete, the five-star Kiani Beach Resort is a short drive from the historic city of Chania and just over a mile from Kalyves Village, with its array of lovely shops, tavernas and charming cafés. Go mountain biking or walking in the nearby mountains, take a dip in the beautiful waters, or simply stretch out under an umbrella with a cocktail.
The resort holds a TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award – and it’s little wonder why since, as your all-inclusive board indicates, it really has got everything covered. As well as spacious guest rooms with relaxing vistas, features include a buffet restaurant serving amazing Mediterranean fare, a beach bar offering respite on sunny days, a swimming pool and wellness facilities, evening entertainment and plenty of ways to keep the kids busy – including a daily animation programme, a dedicated pool and a pirate ship playground.
How to Get There
Great facilities. You can get a bus into Chania for the day just at the end of the road. Plenty to do in the hotel,football/volleyball/tennis/Zumba to name a few. Food a bit repetitive, but good quality. We were in the complex away from the main building. Could do with a bit of extra lighting along there, as it seemed a bit isolated. Great clean room with plenty of space.
Little late in writing this review...
We arrive 19th October and was amazed what a beautiful setting this hotel was in the hills and the views was out of this world. we arrived and got told our room wasn't ready but if we stayed in a room with no veiw.that they would upgrade us to vip which we accepted the room they put us in for one night was very modern but still was getting renovated and the veiw was a brick wall. having said that the next morning we went back and they give us a lovely room mountain veiw right at top of the hill and god it was fantastic!! it has a Jacuzzi bath outside with tv and the balcony area was that big you could of fit my house on it lol the room was clean and tidy and had everything you needed we even got complentary toothbrush and soap sets.
The surroundings.. the kids pool was perfect for out little girl and we was round there most days not too deep and was shade if needed. the bar area was clean tidy and the staff was fantastic and polite the restraunt again out in this world lots of choice everything fresh and the chef was always coming out making sure every where was clean and that the food was replenished if needed .
The weather hit and miss and it was October we did have a massive thunder storm and some cloudy days out of the 7 we got 3 good days but that's what happens when you go in October. We loved this place it's everything you want for a holiday and anyone that says it isn't worth 5 stars is crazy... it's an amazing place clean tidy and everyone is so helpful we are booking for May we love this place and bringing in-laws as well would recommend all day long love kiani beach 💖
Already second holiday in this hotel. Nice food and nice staff. Plenty sun beds and beach towels. Spa and indoor pool.restaurant manager Mr Antonio very helpful and nice. Will back next year. Recommended for families with kids.
We have returned to this special family resort four times now and on each occasion we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff have always been superb and cannot do enough to make sure we are always happy and comfortable. We would like to especially thank the Front Office Manager, her always smiling and her welcoming reception staff that have greeted us over the years. The rooms in the main hotel have always been very well presented and the cleaning staff are thorough and very efficient in the way they carry out their duties. Having just experienced a weeks stay in the newly built section of the hotel, we found it to be delightful. The decoration and space of each room is exceptional. The facilities include a second restaurant, a fabulous pool and entertainment area, a spa with heated indoor pool and an abundance of sun loungers. With two restaurants to choose from There is plenty on offer. The restaurant in the original part of the resort is run faultlessly by the restaurant manager who is extremely helpful and attentive to the requirements of the guests. The main resort also has an extremely knowledgeable life guard so if it’s the history of Crete you are most interested in, he is the one you need to speak to. Over the years we have visited many different resorts around the world but none have made us feel as welcome as the staff at Kiani Beach. Well worth a visit! We are already looking at returning next year. A and B.
I was invited to stay at the Kiani Beach Resort as a blogger to write a review of our experience which is on my website. I am adding a review here as we enjoyed our stay so much!
The resort is all inclusive which mean we had all meals, snacks and drinks included. There was plenty to eat and the food was excellent which is super important in an all inclusive package.
There is lots to do for kids between the two sections of the resort there are 5 pools in total, two playgrounds, tennis, volleyball, soccer and more. The next section is recently opened and the rooms are quite luxurious.
For the adults there is fun entertainment, spa and for the whole family we enjoyed excursions straight from the hotel lobby.
We'd love to go back again someday as this was by far the most relaxing family holiday we ever had. I never realized how nice it would be to not think about where you will eat or the cost of food on holidays. This is our first all-inclusive holiday, besides the cruise, so it was a real eye-opener and something I'd like to do again! Being able to let the kids eat as much as they like, and ice creams, drinks etc without checking prices or booking tables made the vacation much more chilled out.
We visited in the end of October. The temperature was 22-24 at the high and 18 low. We chose our beach / pool days according to which days were hotter. It was a nice temp for walking around and enjoying without being too hot.
