What We Love

  • Panoramic views of the Gulf of Korthos and the Venetian ruins on Spinalonga Island
  • Cuisine by top Greek chefs
  • The spa's relaxation room, lit by candles
  • Sea views from all the Dome Suites
  • Contemporary design brings in sunlight and incorporates sweeping views
  • Walking distance to the charming fishing village of Plaka, where you can eat in a traditional taverna

What To Know

  • The resort is popular with European families, so there will most likely be children around
  • Consider renting a car if you’d like to explore Crete, as the resort is somewhat isolated
  • The beach is a narrow stretch of gray sand accessed through a tunnel running under a road
  • Since the villas and Dome Suites are built vertically up a cliff (read: on top of each other), some offer more privacy than others

  •  Babysitting
  •  Bar
  •  Free WiFi
  •  Gym
  •  Kids Club
  •  Parking On Site
  •  Pool
  •  Restaurant
  •  Spa

Beautiful stay in Crete

Beautiful hotel, very large property but the service carts help you get around. We had a Haute Living suite which was beautiful and comfortable. Beach service was fantastic and the beach is beautiful. The food was very good and the only negative for me was that it was a more family type hotel and if you have small children don't give it a second thought but if you want a more adult experience stick to the beach and your private suite pool. Overall, this is a beautiful property and we enjoyed our time and experience.

Highly recommend

Had an amazing 4 day short break here, staying with 16 year old daughter. First time to Crete. The photos do not do this beautiful hotel justice. We stayed in a 2 storey 1 bed suite with pool (room 110) and it was astonishingly luxurious. Every need was met. There was a beautiful tray of food and delicacies waiting for us with wine as we had arrived late. The decor and cleanliness was superb. The pool gorgeous, with a fantastic view of Spinalonga, The beach and many pools were beautiful, and the whole place had a serene and relaxing ambience. It was clear it is popular with young families but there are many areas for adults/older children and it was always easy to get a sun lounger. We found the choice of food very good, and never encountered any difficulties mentioned in other posts. Simply go later to the evening buffet if you want to avoid the young families, or try one of the other restaurants. The beach BBQ evening with Greek dancing was a particular highlight and In my opinion worth the additional cost, as the quality of food, location, and entertainment was excellent.
It is the kindness and friendliness of the staff though that makes this hotel special. We hope to return.

Beautiful hotel

This hotel is in a beautiful location with stunning views of the bay and the island of Spinalonga. We stayed in a one bedroom suite with sea view which was spacious and very comfortable with a lovely terrace. The staff were all very attentive and efficient. Breakfast and dinner buffets offer an excellent choice and the other restaurants on site have good menus. There are plenty of sun loungers available ( we were there in early June) and very good staff service on the beach. The hotel is situated on a steep hill which guests should be aware of but there are buggies always available to transport you to your room if required.
We had a lovely relaxing holiday at the Domes of Elounda and would definitely recommend this hotel.

Overall amazing!! A few (tiny, tiny) complaints.

First of all, thanks to Domes staff for a great stay.

Marriott Platinum here. Stayed on points. Upgraded. Villa was incredible, private pool of a good size. Hotel manager greeted us. Welcome drinks and snacks. Villa had wine and more snacks. Plus the Marriott Platinum gift on top!

Two adults - no kids - didn't have any issues as there are adequate separate areas for adults (pool, restaurant). Other guests were fine. Classy place.

We stayed in Crete (Chania side) for about a week before this, so were already spoiled by the incredible service throughout the island, and this resort was on par with that. We had better service in other places, but we did not have any bad service here.

We had a car and didn't eat in the hotel restaurants but did get room service. It was good!

Minor issue 1 -- tried to call the spa, which closed early (5 or 6). I was 15 minutes before closing time, wanted an appointment the next day. Called reception to put me through, reception told me it was too late to reach anyone? Tried the extension reception gave me, couldn't get through - busy - and then 10 minutes before closing time, no one picked up. No one picked up in the morning either. Too hard to get a spa appointment, I gave up. I was going to book a package over 3 days but then I ran out of days... I mean, I was going to spend ~300 euros. Oops.

Minor issue 2 -- I had read about the lounge access online, but no one said anything to us about it when we checked in, so I thought we weren't eligible. Still unclear about that tbh, but just saw another review that seemed to imply we could have entered.

Minor issue 3 -- Bathroom shower leakage, every time, both bathrooms. All over toilet. Oops.

Minor issue 4 -- Free breakfast for all was good. Servers could be quicker. Quiet areas available.

The negative comments above are minor -- as noted! -- overall we loved it and wish we were still there.
