Located in eastern Crete, 20 minutes from the sleepy fishing village of Elounda, Daios Cove Luxury Resort is set in 37 acres, hand-carved out of the surrounding hillside above the inviting azure waters of Daios Bay. Interiors tend to the minimal side, with stone walls, a typically Greek white-on-white palette, sleek wooden furniture around the infinity pool, several contemporary eateries and a trendy bar, Crystal Box, which plays chill-out music throughout the day.
Bed & Bath
With 300 rooms, suites and villas, Daios Cove is no small inn. The guestrooms are large; Deluxe Sea View Rooms start at 452 square feet, while One-Bedroom Villas are more than 1,000. The light blue, beige and sandy color scheme harmonizes with the views outside. While there’s poolside service at the main infinity pool on the property, many of the guestrooms come with their own heated pool, and there’s nothing quite like calling room service and spending a day with nothing but you, your loved ones and the sea all the way to the horizon.
For active types there are two tennis courts, a scuba center, an entertainment room with activities for kids, and a helipad (if you’re thinking of arriving in style). Back on the ground, three restaurants and three bars serve local cuisine and cocktails, with options from the hilltop down to the water’s edge, including an adults-only pool with a swim-up bar for cocktails. The large spa offers dozens of water-based treatments chosen by the team at Germaine de Capuccini, and guests can Zen out with two indoor pools, a sauna, steam bath and an ice fountain.
How to Get There
I visited this resort with my wife and our 9 month old son. Our experience was top level all around. The hotel is beautifully designed, well maintained and very clean. The food is very good with various options and experiences available. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We were very impressed by the attention given to families and the effort to accomodate kids and babies in all their needs. All in all a great experience!!

When entering the grounds of this resort, you feel and know you are visiting something special. The design and build of the resort has not spared thought or expense in it layout and construction.
The Staff were always in attendance and were rapid in their response to whatever little or large request you made.
Food was just wonderful as was the attendance by the staff to your needs should there be any.
Ionnis at the adult section restaurant was impeccable in his approach and manner when serving the drinks with his attention to detail faultless. He like many other of the Daios staff, handled very difficult unreasonable clients with the utmost dignity and Management need to be aware of this fact. I felt so sorry for staff in the restaurants and down at the beach the way they were spoken to at times. I know it goes with part of the job. But because there were different nationalities who all spoke English. It could come across that it was English who were being so rude. When in fact it was definitely NOT.
I have just spent 7 days in luxury at this amazing resort. I went with a fellow girlfriend for our yearly holiday and it was perfect. The staff were plentyful and nothing was too much trouble. The resort looked brand new, clean and fresh. Sunbeds were available at all times as were towels and everything just flowed.
I loved our private pool although it was a little chilly, I loved the funiculars which were used to transport you around the resort. The room was fab as was the restaurants, bars, pools and beach.
Downsides (this is being very picky). Why do hotels supply hairdryers that need you to keep a finger on the button. Totally unnecessary as nobody leaves a hairdryer on!!!
We asked for a twin room but were given a double. However the bed was massive and we arrived at 1.30am so we didn't bother changing. Drinks were on the expensive side but considering the resort I'm not surprised.
This our second time at the Daios Cove and once again we had a fantastic time.
The service and attention to detail is very good without being over bearing. The team supported us in organising a wonderful 18th birthday for our daughter and Maria from the reception team was outstanding in making sure everything went well.
The hotel have invested significantly in creating the beach bar and restaurant and it really adds to the hotel and again the food and service at the bar and the restaurant is first class.
I am lucky enough to to stay in some lovely hotels in London and New York run by the Firmdale Group and the service and comfort provided by Daios Cove is at least equal to these hotels.
Our group was my wife, Myself and 5 x 18 to 20 year old's and each one of us rated this as our number one holiday hotel.
Thanks Daios Cove.
