While Australia is famed for its natural wonders, in buzzy Broadbeach on Queensland’s Gold Coast, manmade attractions are also a major draw. The high-rise Sofitel, with its 296 rooms, two pools, and access to a casino and shopping mall, is perfect for those who like to be at the center of the action. Pared down rooms in white and brown allow the city or Pacific Ocean views to pop, with all the amenities you’d expect of a major 5 star resort, like marble bathrooms and flatscreen TVs. There are two dining options, both with a sophisticated urban vibe; TC’s sports bar offers a more casual ambiance plus a host of indoor games.
In the Area
The Gold Coast boasts some of Australia’s most renowned surfing beaches like the aptly named Surfers Paradise; beginners can get a taste for the waves at the Cheyne Horan Surf School. The area is also known for its Humpback Whale sightings; boats like Spirit of the Gold Coast offer half day tours. Kids will get a kick out of the region’s theme parks like Sea World, Warner Brothers’ Movie World, and Wet ‘n’ Wild Gold Coast, while animal lovers will adore Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, the perfect place to spot kangaroos, koalas, and crocs.
How to Get There
my wife and I stayed here looking for some RnR, and did we get it. sure Broadbeach is wonderful however the staff, the room (18th floor) and the amenities could not of been better.
The staff were amazing, so thank you. from greating, to breakfast, to wanting ice at 9pm, they could not of done more for you. pool was lovely. Room was spacious, modern, clean and views were amazing.
To the management team, staff at Sofitel Broadbeach kudos.. you make each customer feel very very special.
My three nights at the Sofitel were very pleasant. It's in an excellent location surrounded by cafes and restaurants, next to a shopping centre, across the road from the casino and convention centre, not to mention near the beach. I could walk everywhere within 5 minutes.
The room was well-appointed with everything needed for a short stay. My room had a city view on the 9th floor and at times I could hear motorcycles and trucks passing on the Gold Coast Highway, even with the balcony door closed. It wasn't enough to be annoying, though was noticeable at times.
A comfortable bed, cool quiet air-con, large TV on the wall, and the room was clean with nice soft towels. Housekeeping staff were very pleasant and the front desk staff couldn't be more helpful.
Would definitely stay here again with the family or on business.
We have been members of the Accor Plus club for a couple of years now. But we normally stay at the Mecure Carrara if we are down the coast. We were sent a great deal to stay at the Sofitel Broadbeach for a couple of nights. Sooooo glad we took them up on the offer. The rooms are lovely and modern. The ensuite is a VERY good size and the shower is just lovely. Every staff member we came across could not have been nicer or more accomodating. We went to the Bistro 3 for both dinner and breakfast and wow. Absolutely beautiful food and great service. The breakfast was amazing. They even had a chocolate fountain and pancake making machine. Little smoothie shots and the coffee was made by a barista not a machine. The range of food was so nice we didn't know where to start. So we will definitely be back to the Sofitel. Very impressed. Thank you for making our couple of days away so pleasant and stress free.
My check-in experience was a little slow at first but this changed when additional staff came to the rescue of queuing guests. My Platinum membership was recognised and I was upgraded to a a very comfortable and functional suite. All the hotel public areas are of a high standard and offer a good drink and cocktail selection as well as food menu. Breakfast was a little chaotic however. A great hotel which lives up to its Sofitel branding.
I am actually not impressed by the hotel. The hotel looks dated but at an excellent location with only a few minutes walk to the beach. All the staff I gave encountered are friendly and professional so that’s meeting the Sofitel standard.
I had asked for an adapter as I forgot to bring one on the trip. At first, I was told there was one in the room which there was none. Then I called to have one sent up which never came. Then I tried to call again and no one answered, not just once but multiple times. And finally I went to the front desk and was only told that they did not provide adapters anymore. I was able to use the USB plug on the back to TV to charge my phone. This should have been told on the first time when I asked.
There was only one bottle of free water provided in the room. Not sure if the cleaner forgot to bring more water but it was not replenished on the second day. Really? In a hot weather of a 5 stars hotel, only one bottle of water provided?
Breakfast was good. Staff are friendly there and selections were good.
Even with a few hiccups, I still enjoyed the hotel and would definitely stay here again if I ever come here again.
