Booked a weekend break for my wife’s 62nd birthday as reviews were good but ended up very disappointed.

First the good points our room was comfortable ,breakfast was self serving and was excellent in both quality and taste.

Now the not so good points: attempted to check in at 2:55 to be told room wasn’t ready and reminded that check in was from 3pm
On reviewing their information sheet in our room was disappointed to find the swimming pool was only open a few hours in the morning and a few hours in the evening if you wanted to swim outside the set hours it would cost £15 per person ?????
But my main disappointment was the food in restaurants in the evening was shockingly poor which I couldn’t understand as breakfast was so good
Would I come back here it would have to be a no.
This is only my opinion.

Family Weekend Break

We have just arrived at this hotel and found that the gym is out of order and under refurbishment, when we booked this hotel we were not informed about this, so we are highly disappointed.

The rooms are dated and there are stains on the carpet.

Did not expect this from a 4* hotel.

Nan’s Birthday Treat

We booked this for 12 adults & 2 children- the hotel was great, they were very busy but they still had time for us. Our rooms all backed onto the lake, were clean and modern.
We had read some very bad reviews before our visit, I’m not not sure why, everything was great.
The breakfast had a good variety & selection including Vegan.
We would return - it’s was nice.
