I expected a room facing the lake with decking. Our’s looked out onto the car park.
We purchased a family room in fact we had two adjoining bedrooms & a large lounge/kitchen. But the sofas were worn & uncomfortable as were the beds & there was no air conditioning. Use of the pool was very limited unless a fee of £15 each was paid & popular items such as certain pastries ran out at breakfast!

Very pleased after having read so many negative reviews. Our room was nice, comfy bed and complimentary drinks. Staff very helpful and friendly. Impressed with organization at a very busy breakfast time, didn't have to wait too long for a table, congratulations to all of the staff who were working like little ants.
Very nice breakfast with plenty of choice. Some previous reviews mentioned the banging of doors, perhaps a little more thought by residents who just let the doors close by themselves would eleviate this otherwise management could have the door closures removed.
Would definitely be going back again.

Hotel lovely - staff a bit rude

Family stay for 3 nights in an apartment. The rooms were lovely - spacious for a family and had everything we needed. Unfortunately I had two interactions with staff that left me a little perturbed.

Firstly, when we arrived I was asked at the check in desk if I would like help with my luggage from the concierge. As we had quite a few bags and my mum is in her 70s I said yes. We were told to wait outside the main building and help would be with us. After ten minutes of waiting I went back into reception and was quite rudely asked why I was waiting there as this was the wrong building and I should have parked round the corner. I was a little embarrassed by the tone and apologised if I had misunderstood. I said that we would manage ourselves and walked away. I think a manager who had heard the conversation realised that the staff member had been too abrupt and ran out of reception after me to offer assistance. This was much appreciated.

Secondly, I visited the gym with my teenage son twice. Although he regularly uses a gym at home, I am aware of age restrictions in some places and was prepared that he may not be able to use the facilities at the hotel. On the first occasion however we went into the gym and were seen by staff in there so I presumed that all was ok.

On the second occasion, after twenty minutes of us using the equipment I was approached by a member of staff. She pointed at my son and asked, “Is this your child?” without even a “hello” or “good morning”. I replied that he was. She then pointed at him again and said, “Well you need to take your child and leave. He’s under 16 and he’s not allowed in here.” I again was embarrassed at her tone as there were other guests around us. I commented that I didn’t realise the age restriction and had not been told about this and apologised. I said that we had used the gym yesterday and no one had said anything then. I was then told, “You should have signed in but you walked straight in.”

The staff member was extremely rude and patronising. I don’t expect as a guest to be spoken to in this way. There are ways of getting your point across and this was appalling. I fully accept that if the hotel policy states that my son should not be present in the gym then we should abide by this but this should have been communicated in a much more friendly way.

Hence my overall impression was that I was actually doing staff a favour by staying there - poor customer service I’m afraid.

Noisy full of promise, fails to deliver

Actually sat here in room 329 writing this review on our last night of 3 nights. Totally disappointed after booking a suite with balcony and lounge with both the room service, which lacks total care and makes you feel that you have to fight to get your basic room amenities.....eg.. Tea, coffee, fridge replenishments, missing on second and third days. Why should we have to ring and ask for what should be in our rooms as a matter of course.?? Room not serviced until after 4pm and we are in a suite, which you would expect to spend the day enjoying with beautiful views of the lakeside.

We would never come back. The reason? The noise. Constant banging of doors beneath us in a timber frame construction resonating up two floors It is so loud on our first morning we were woken at 5am by people banging doors to go outside to smoke. So you expect need to expect excessive noise and multiply that x10 in other words very noisy.

However this evening as I sit typing this, we are getting a banging of door etc every 10 seconds from people below on two floors. Almost decided to go home. To be fair to the wonderful reception staff, Molly offered to move us............but seriously on the last night?

We won't be back, we can't recommend it and its certainly no more than a two star hotel or substitute hotel for motel. Its now 22:20 and the family below us are still banging front door, bathroom door, and bedroom doors inside one room. With four rooms over two floors giving 24 doors of noise from people and young children returning from the pool beneath us. I am so angry to have wasted my money on an anniversary stay here. This has totally spoilt our anniversary spa break.

Don't stay in room 329 if you want peace and quiet, you won't get it!
