Service was Horrendous !!
Reviewed 11 hours ago

Here now and have had a horrendous evening for my wife’s birthday!!!
Booked online a superior room with a lake view and was told on arrival that it’s not guaranteed even though online it does not state that.
Had a room with a partial lake view which to be fair was a nice room, very spacious.

Went to the bar in the afternoon and after waiting for ages to get served, one man on the bar, was served flat champagne and had to really push to get that changed !!
Ordered some food which when arrived was absolutely fine,

Returned to the bar in the evening and things were just so poor from start to finish !
Again served flat Prosecco this time and again had to argue to get it changed, quite simply the bottle had been open for ages and the attitude of the staff, after waiting again for an eternity to get served was abismal, simply not enough staff.

Went to the Brasserie for dinner and things got worse !!
Arrived at 19.45pm and eventually got our mains at 21.40pm....shocking !! Service was horrendous and there were multiple tables around us with the same problems...and we only ordered a pizza !!! Also had to get up and go and find waiter / waitress to get a drink !!

Pizzas were lovely when they did arrive.

The whole place just feels understaffed which leads to the horrendous service !!

Shame as the place is nice....will not be returning !!

A VALENTINE BREAK
Reviewed 18 hours ago

I booked this hotel for a Valentines break for my wife and I. We had a very pleasant greeting on arrival and cannot fault the friendliness of the staff. Our very pleasant and comfortable room had a super lakeside view. The buffest breakfast on both days was more than ample and all well laid out. The restaurant on both evenings provided delightful and tasty food.

In particular Aurora on reception, Freya at the breakfast buffet and Chloe our waitress in the evenings were really first class. Having said that the majority of the staff we came into contact, were extremely polite and helpful.

The venue certainly will be visited by us again in the not to distant future

Couples Spa break

This was our first trip with friends for a spa weekend. Lovely hotel with attentive staff.
The lobby was spacious and airy with a little area to buy snacks etc. The bar and seating areas were cosy with lovely comfortable seating.
Rooms were spacious, Clean and comfortable. We managed to get rooms next to each other. The hotel has soa facilities with the added bonus to book treatments if you want. The only issue is that there were time restrictions, however the facilities were very good despite being very busy.
We had dinner in the restaurant on the evening we arrived which had good service. Breakfast was included and had a good variety of hot and cold foods.
The best part of this hotel is the location on the lake... with warmer weather it would be amazing to take walks around the lake! There are local villages with quaint little local shops for a spot of local shopping and walk about.

Amazing inside & out

This hotel was such a pleasant visit from start to finish. All staff were professional, polite & helpful from front of house to housekeeping ( especially the gentleman working in the spa area around the changing rooms on the evening of 14/03/2019 he was cleaning and was so genuinely kind & went out of his way to be helpful! )
The scenes of the lake were beautiful and made our morning to wake up to...
Breakfast was amazing too! Couldn’t ask for more, all so fresh and tasty, something for everyone !
Highly recommend this hotel.
Thank you for having us :)

A Birthday treat that any Cupid would love!
Reviewed 2 days ago

Very excited to visit this secluded spa hotel. I felt it met and exceeded all expectations. It was a joint birthday treat for my best friend and a valentines getaway with my partner.

Not only did the staff adorably leave fudge and a card in my friend's room, but they continued to be charming and present throughout our stay.

Food at the boathouse was £15-£25 a main cours3 however was rich in flavour accompanied with good atmosphere and great company.

Breakfast was included in out stay and was good and bedrooms were contemporary and very clean.

Although didn't book any treatments, Spa 6 was a small warm haven that melted your stresses away. My only criticism was the experience shower was faulty and out of action.

I will continue to visit De Vere hotels as I feel they are little luxury breaks from the day to day stresses that I applaud.
