Boutique hotel right in the plaza with the beautifully restored Dresden cathedral. Excellent food and beer within walking distance. Hotel has a very nice breakfast spread on the first floor. Smiling and efficient front desk.

Good Location, Modern and Luxury

The room is so nice, modern decoration and clean room. The location is good too because the hotel is situated at main square so we can go to many attraction places by walking. Their service and staffs are also very good.

Great Locale, you won’t regret it

More of a 4.5 than a straight 4 rating for Dapple. Friendly enough staff, strong location in Old Town, this was a great base for a quick tour of the town’s exemplary Christmas markets.

The rooms and breakfast felt essentially like an upscale version of a very good Marriott (if you’ve ever stayed at Marriott Copenhagen, it’s like that but a bit better). It’s not a 5-star or luxury hotel and despite its hipster aesthetic on the website, the rooms were very comfortable but sort of bland (not in a bad way, but neutral colors, no quirks, etc). Rooms were spacious, bathrooms were very functional and , again, breakfast was a bit better than expected. Id suggest it if I had a friend visiting the town and I’d stay again if in Dresden and looking to stay in Old Town.

This was simply a straightforward, reasonably priced, elevated version of a higher end (but not luxury) chain business hotel.

Premium location

Upon entry to the hotel lobby, I was impressed by the stunning lift shaft design. The rooms are modern and spacious, which I prefer to the fussy traditional styles. Mine overlooked the square but unfortunately, the view was marred by some construction and maintenance work. But this wasn't the hotel's fault. There is a lounge next to the lobby where you can help yourself to free coffee and tea all day. A glass door opens out to the small mall where the tourist office is located.
The best part of this hotel was its location right at the Neumarkt square. With 3 nights at the hotel, I walked past the Frauenkirche at all times of the day, but the clincher for me was how close to the stunning Furstenzüg it was. It enabled me to enjoy repeated viewings of this famous porcelain mural.
With its excellent breakfast in an airy cafe and wonderful location, I would not hesitate to recommend it to my friends. It is only in a smaller city like this where it becomes affordable to stay at a premium location like this.

Great Location in Central Dresden

Vienna House QF is a modern hotel well-situated on Dresden’s Neumarkt, the location of the Frauenkirche. All of Dresden’s main tourist sights are within easy walking distance of the hotel. We stayed in a Refugium room on the top floor, with a good view out over the Neumarkt. There was some noise during the day from construction in the square, but given the amount of building underway just now in central Dresden, that would presumably be a risk wherever one chose to stay. Our two-room suite was comfortable, clean and well-appointed, apart from a strangely inadequate supply of soap in the two bathrooms. We had to request a second hand soap, so that we could wash our hands in both locations, and we were not given a new shampoo even though the one we had been using was now empty. The restaurant only serves breakfast, but given the hotel’s location there is no shortage of places to find lunch and dinner. The breakfast buffet while not extensive had a good range of high-quality choices, and nicely cooked dishes were also available to order. The self-service automated espresso machine made much better coffee than is usually the case for that type of machine.
