How to Get There
An excellent location whether you want to shop, see sights, go to museums... also opera is nearby and Gendarmenmarkt square around the corner.
You can walk everywhere worth to see on a 3 days Berlin trip. There is nice shops, Galeries Lafayette and lots of nice restaurants nearby. We had a junior suite - which was little small for 3. There is also a spa which we did not try - treatments seemed to be expensive (as a Finn I am used to high prices but these were higher than in Finland). Bathrobes and Babor's shampoos in a room were a nice surprise. Also two different kinds of coffee makers in the room (which we did not use). Our room number was 438 - and if you want a quiet room nearby the spa (without a view) - very good for that.
Breakfast was very nice, a lot to choose from. And for a rainy day we could loan umbrellas. On Monday morning we had a very early flight and I think that a big minus is that they do not have any kind of early breakfast for those leaving early.
This hotel also has two restaurants - stake restaurant which we would have tried but it was closed on Sunday night - so we tried their pub ("burger-club sandwich" -menu). Nice burgers and great onion rings. Club sandwich with salad was a huge portion. My non alcoholic drink was delicious.
Staff and service was ok - the kind of service that you do not notice that you are served but everything is taken care of (which kind of service I like) both in the breakfast restaurant and reception.
We stayed here for 3 nights in March/April 2019 at the beginning of our two week trip to Central Europe and were very pleased. Very pretty entry and ground floor entry area. Room--utilitarian, but comfortable. Clean Restaurant--good breakfasts and a pleasant steak place at night. Helpful desk. Very centrally located by foot to tourist attractions in Mitte area.
Stayed for a night on a business trip so can’t say much. However given it is a hotel in our corporate list & I was visiting for there for very first time, they gave me a room which was perhaps the last room in the hotel with never ending alleys including very uncomfortable flight of stairs. The hotel was empty & the staff never made an effort to make me feel special. Room size was decent but felt a bit stuffy. Won’t be in my consideration list in the future.
Great central location - loads of very elegant bars and restaurants in the local area, and just a 5 minute walk to major sights and the river cruise departure point. Lovely big room, smart clean bathroom, good wifi, and very quiet. We ate in the restaurant and had an outstanding steak - very smart hotel.
Our visit was a good one. Beautiful hotel, great cocktails with a sophisticated bar. Staff went above and beyond during our visit and our room was upgraded to a superior room. Room service good. Overall a great stay.
