How to Get There
Bad hotel, old and dirty interior.
Bad customer service, no flexibility.
Overcharge and note treating customers fair.
Condescending attitude by staff when you try to resolve issues, hiding behind process.
People DON’T go there, overpriced and terrible.
The hotel interior is extremely impressive with a beautiful staircase in the main lobby. The furniture is also very comfortable in the public areas and in the rooms. The Breakfast selection was a bit disappointing, while room service was great. Also you are not allowed certain footwear at breakfast I went down wearing my flip flops and I was asked to change them for a different style of shoes, although the morning after I saw a guest in her silk pijamas and some sort of slippers, so I guess it depends on who is at the door. The pool in the basement is not very big and an awkward shape to exercise in. I could not see a hot tub, while saunas and samarium are available at a charge or if you are a gold member. When I visited the sauna I was the only guest with access and i throughly enjoyed the space, bare in mind this is Germany and sauna is rigorously naked area. The hotel does not offer a cash withdrawal service. All in all it was a fine stay, but I prefer the grand Hyatt for his location and service.
Was surprised, how old fashioned the Hotel is for a major European capital. The rooms needs urgently a refurbishment, for sure! See my pics. Mould in bathroom, no AC working ('due to winter time' ????). 'Open the window' - the answer of the Hotel staff - but than u have the massive street noise. I wonder, why I am Titanium member of Marriott... In this Hotel, I recommend only last minute bookings. Courtyard Hotel around the corner is much better. Lobby in Westin Grand is nice and great (for Americans), food is very good...
