In the Area
Situated in the City West district, the property is mere steps from the Kurfürstendamm, Berlin’s top shopping boulevard, a two-mile cosmopolitan cocktail of designer labels, hip boutiques and the century-old department store KaDeWe, with its must-see food hall. How to Get There
We recently stayed at this hotel for a short city break.
This is a very central hotel, the hotel is as you see in all the photographs.
The rooms are spacious comfortable amd clean.
The staff are very welcoming and very helpful.
In short I would have no hesitation in recommending the swissotel amd would certainly stay there again
Our first time at the Swissotel Berlin. Have previously stayed a couple of times at the hotel directly opposite (Sofitel).
Very friendly and welcoming staff - reception, housekeeping, bar, etc.
We stayed in a “Swiss Advantage Room Kudamm View”. We were a bit surprised of the (small) size of the room (1019).
The room is on the top floor (10th) with a view down the Kufürstendamm. We were told by reception that only 3 rooms have views in the direction of the famous Berlin landmark the “Gedächtniskirche”. Ours was not 1 of the 3. But still a nice enough view.
The double bed only queen-sized (approx. 140-150 cm wide). Tea and coffee (Nespresso) making facilities. Bathroom (again rather small) with bathtub and a separate shower.
Overall the room was a bit worn around the edges and the lamp stand had not been dusted/cleaned recently. The entrance area of the room has a wooden floor which is very worn with some strange looking foot imprints (looks like permanent wet feet). Needs to be sanded down and oiled or something of that sort.
All in all we had a pleasant stay. Will we be back? Maybe but most likely not. I think we will use the hotel directly opposite again.
We chose the hotel for our family vacation in the end of March 2018. we booked 3 rooms including breakfast. We received clean modern rooms on the 8th floor facing the street - beautiful. the rooms were very clean and comfortable. The only comment we have is regarding the pillows - very large yet too airy and soft, we needed to pile them for better support. The hotel serves rich, fresh breakfast catering to all different tastes - a great way to start your day.
The hotel is centrally located to shops, restaurants, important monuments etc.
It's not a budget hotel but it was worth the price.
This is by far one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at, mostly because of their attention to detail. First, they had a quiet central AC that worked great, their curtains went end to end, blocking out the morning sun, the room has a tablet for ordering room service, wake up calls or even ordering a special pillow.
The room had an exceptional amount of closet space if you have lots of luggage or things to hang. There was a shower and a separate huge soaking tub which I thought was nice.
The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. There was a minor issue with the final bill and they easily offered to correct it.
1. You must take two separate elevators to get to your room, a bit of a pain.
2. Hair conditioner is not provided. I noticed this at the other hotel we stayed at in Germany, so I’m guessing this is common practice so you may want to pack your own or ask the hotel if they’re able to provide it.
3. The comfortable was super small, there was no overlap to the sides of the bed so when you used it, it was hard to get it to cover two people.
We have just returned from an amazing 3 day stay in Berlin at Swissotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is amazing, close to major sights and transport. We stayed in a junior suite which was huge and very comfortable. The hotel included lots of personal touches in the room including Winnie the Pooh bedsheets, towel and shower gel for our children which they absolutely loved. We had a free minibar and Nespresso machine, which were very welcome. We had breakfast in our room one morning and it was plentiful and very tasty and beautifully presented. This is a wonderful hotel, very family friendly and we would not stay anywhere else when visiting Berlin. Highly recommended.
