How to Get There
Stayed here for 5 nights and was overall very satisfied. The location, just two minutes from Hauptbahnhof, was fantastic and extremely convinient. The room had good size, nice decor and the bathroom was good with a rain shower. Missed a bathtub, but I understand that some rooms comes with a shower and some with bathtub, and I hadn't specifically asked for a room with a bathtub. The room was very clean and the cleaning staff were very thorough. The reason I choose to pay a little extra for a stay in a 5*hotel is mainly because of the small extras, like a comfortable bathrobe and slippers and nice bath products. As I have experienced in a few other hotels this also lacks conditioner in the shower, and the bathrobe felt a bit well worn, towel fabric which had lost it's softness. The minibar was also empty, and it was a bit confusing with one notecard saying that you at any time could by snacks and drinks to fill the minibar from the reception, and another one stating the prices for the products supposedly in it. When I checked out, the receptionist told me that on the bottom floors you had to ask for the minibar to be filled. No previous information about that, either when I booked the hotel nor when I checked in. These are minor things, but still details that separates the best hotels from the next best.
Air conditioning worked well, it was a hot weekend in Berlin, and the room was quiet as it didn't face any street. The breakfast buffet was top notch, with great selections of both warm dishes, bred, spreads, cheese, croissants, fruits, cereal, drinks etc. Loved the interior and the good atmosphere with smiling, attentive staff.
I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone, although it's not in the same league as my favorite in Berlin, The Waldorf Astoria.
During our stay the WiFi was not working, even after telling and insisting on a fix nothing changed, something unacceptable for a hotel like this which tries to attract business travelers. The breakfast was completely overrun by people, we had to wait for an empty table in a super hectic environment where you thought tourists are just on the hunt for food. Not worth the money, better Hotels available for that price
Superb hotel. Centrally located within easy walking distance of the Bundestag and the Brandenburg Gate. Main train station immediately outside the hotel but wouldn’t know it as so quiet.
Stayed in a Suite with a toddler. Layout was fantastic. Baby asleep in cot and still enough privacy and space for the adults to relax without disturbing the baby.
Bar was reasonably priced with a good selection of drinks on offer.
What can be said about breakfast. Huge selection, perhaps the largest I’ve ever see. and the omelette station was great.
Very attentive staff too.
Would stay again in a heartbeat.
We booked 2 nights in this hotel because of its central location. Room is new and clean. Customer service is friendly. However WiFi is really bad and its connection was continuously unstable (Our room number is 271). We gave a call to front desk at 11pm and nobody picked up our phone as well as giving a phone call back to us.
Myself and my fiance are just back from a weekend break to Berlin and stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. We really enjoyed our stay. The decor is quite modern with plenty of space and high ceilings. We flew into Schonefeld from Dublin. The hotel is basically beside Berlin Central station - there's a train that takes you directly from the airport to the train station so for us it was a very convenient location. The rooms in the hotel are lovely - nicely decorated and very comfortable beds. The bathroom was nice too and the shower was excellent. The room also had blackout curtains which meant we were not disturbed by the early morning sun! The staff were all very friendly. One of the best things about the hotel was the breakfast - plenty of options to choose from and plenty of fresh fruit and bread and delicious coffee.
A couple of things I would say is that there are not a lot of restaurants and bars very near the hotel - we were happy to go walking and as its beside the train stations there are train and taxi options easily accessible.
In terms of the hotel itself we found that the air conditioning was not very cold. Even when left on for a while the room didn't feel cold. It was very hot last weekend though so this wouldn't always be an issue. I also was disappointed that there were charges for water in the room, I've been to lots of hotels that give still water free of charge. These are only small issues. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend.
