How to Get There
I really, really wanted to love this hotel, but location truly is everything.
The service is great, and the overall vibe and decor are amazing. I absolutely love the eclectic feel that this hotel has curated. Plus the bar, common area and courtyard are excellent amenities.
My only complaint for the property itself would be the cramped rooms. Usually I shrug off comments about small rooms, especially if made by fellow Americans (we like space), but these rooms really are small. So keep that in mind when booking.
Really the only significant downside is the location. Mind you it’s not a bad area by any means; it’s just not close to the action or super charming and walkable. It’s probably a great, quieter location to live in or for people who visit often, but if you’re new to the city, it’s not where you want to be. My current profile photo is actually from Savignyplatz Station, which we used daily, instead of my preferred method of exploring by foot.
Great little hotel with welcome drinks and complimentary bottle of fizz as it was a birthday break. Short trip on city train to centre of Berlin. Nice bars and cafes around the hotel - would highly recommend Die Stulle and Coffee drink your monkey which are both a short walk from the hotel. Staff friendly and welcoming with no fuss. Our room was small but that was expected, nothing bigger needed for the 2 of us. Comfortable bed and all facilities you needed in your room. Only negative was the over head shower didn’t work as it needed a clean (holes blocked with scale).
We stayed here for 3 nights and had such a wonderful stay. The rooms are designed beautifully - so upmarket and stylish - and the staff were very attentive and it was a lovely touch to be so warmly welcomed on arrival. It was my partners birthday and I had asked in advance if there was anything special they could arrange for the room and when we arrived to our room there was a bottle of fizz in there and a birthday message, very kind and thoroughly enjoyed. We loved the room, the speaker was great and just the overall size of the room (we had a deluxe) was perfect. The only issue was the shower, it leaked a lot. When showering it trickled out and onto the bedroom floor causing us to constantly be mopping it up and once the shower was off it continued to trickle as and when it pleased which was noisy and quite annoying. We didn’t have breakfast included in our stay but that was expected. But, It was odd going downstairs on our first morning to head out to see the whole reception area turned into a breakfast buffet which we didn’t expect as it hadn’t been mentioned as an additional cost when checking in, so we were a bit confused and not sure if we could eat or not. Anyway, we didn’t, and other people did too appear slightly confused with the process. We did order some breakfast in the restaurant on our final morning which was very nice and good coffee too! The only other thing that was a bit of a disappointment was the water situation. On arrival there was a complimentary bottle of water in the room which we expected to be replenished on the second day, as you would usually have in a hotel and really is not much to expect! When we realised this wasn’t the case and we asked downstairs for water, we were charged £6.50 to the room which is absolutely crazy!!! I really think they should re-evaluate this as the complimentary water wasn’t even branded and probably from the tap so to replace it daily is not a big ask and should be done with the daily clean of the room and linens. That aside, I’d 100% return to Berlin just for this hotel, it really was a fantastic stay.
I have been visiting Berlin since 92 and this was my best choice. My room was superb - bluetooth and Nespresso. Salvatori and colleagues on check-in were authentic in their welcome. It's only 44 rooms but feels a bit special. Handsome and trendy crew serve in the Butcher's restaurant. Breakfast was calm - if things run out, just ask. Great place. Great calm location. Will be back soon.
We recently returned home after our stay at The Sit Savigny over the weekend. On arrival we found staff very helpful. The decor and layout were very cool. When getting to our room which was a ‘double room’ we were amazed with the size, the high ceilings and layout were also very impressive. If you love vintage look furnishings, light fittings and the whole vintage vibe you’d love the room. I’d previously seen the room on a Vlog so my expectations were already fairly high, however it exceeded my expectations.
One last thing, food and drinks from ‘The butcher’ downstairs were also great. A burger lovers dream! I wouldn’t think twice about booking again for another trip to Berlin.
