A traditional five-star hotel in central Berlin, with an address on one of the city's iconic shopping avenues

The Lowdown

Going high-end in Berlin will typically mean opting for cutting-edge modern design or the polar opposite: classical, time-proven luxury. Kempinski Hotel Bristol Berlin fits into the latter category, showcasing old-school European elegance, discreet service and a stunning location on the Kurfürstendamm. Staying on this iconic avenue, you’ll be steps away from luxury boutiques, hip cafés and exquisite restaurants.
Opposite the Uhlandstraße U-Bahn station and minutes from the famous Berlin Zoo, this five-star gem is one of the city’s landmark hotels. Inside, there’s a fine-dining restaurant, a brasserie and a piano bar, plus an upscale spa with a beautiful heated pool and a thermal zone. And that’s not to mention your lovely guest room, where you’ll find regal décor, high-end furnishings and all the mod cons needed for a serene stay in this trendy town.

Each of the 323-square-foot Superior rooms is appointed in a traditionally elegant style and includes a marble en-suite with a bathtub. For a bit more room, upgrade to a Junior suite, where you’ll find 484 square feet of space, as well as a spacious seating area.

Gourmet cuisine is served in the hotel’s Kempinski Grill, and French cuisine can be found at Reinhard’s at Kurfürstendamm, complete with a terrace overlooking the famous avenue. For drinks and cocktails, head to the Gobelin Halle lounge or Bristol Bar.

Keeping with the elegance of the hotel, the spa exudes European sophistication. Facilities include a heated, 59-foot pool, a sauna, a steam room with a cold-water plunge pool, a solarium, a pool bar and a fitness center. A range of high-end therapies and treatments are available.

Located in central Berlin, west of Tiergarten, the hotel sits right on Kurfürstendamm, the famous shopping boulevard, just a short walk from the lovely KaDeWe department store. Its position, opposite the Uhlandstraße U-Bahn station, ensures easy access to just about every Berlin neighborhood, and it’s only a five-minute walk from Berlin Zoo.

Great stay in Berlin

A very nice Hotel with a friendly English speaking Staff. Breakfast was included with our Tour on a daily basis. We were in an Economy room which is small but very comfortable.
Only issue for me was there were no drawers. We had to make due with very little shelf space, so ended up with clothes piled on the desk and chair. Good restaurants and a nice in door pool. Also a comfortable bar that served meals. Would stay here again.

It’s dated but a bargain

After not being in Berlin for 35 years I’d always wanted to stay in the old Kempinski hotel on the Ku’damm, we had booked a junior suite and got a very good rate for our Australian dollar. Room was on the 5th floor with a small view of the street and railway line but no noise could be heard. Staff were very good with maps and instructions with a great Italian restaurant across the road.
Only had breakfast one morning in the adjoining cafe which was just ok as there’s plenty of other options in the neighbourhood if you’re willing to explore them. Bed was ok but the pillows weren’t so we had to ask for firmer, I’m not sure why European hotels have separate mattresses and awful pillows!
It’s an ideal location for shopping and transport links which make it a great choice. Would highly recommend especially given the good prices.

Posh hotel but attention to detail lacking

First impression of hotel is good, everywhere clean - we stayed in a Suite, 2 adults and 2 children but suite was only set up for 2 on arrival (these things happen) but water only given in room on arrival …..all that money for a suite and they can't provide water ? but that said, breakfasts very very good, cleanliness of room very good. If you are in an adjoining suite with noisy neighbours it can be noisy ! but again, these things happen. Would stay again ! just wished I had no moans !

A very good address; great value for money. Very classical, Berlin style hotel. Top location, walking distance from many interesting places. Very nice breakfast / restaurant. Room good but not exceptional but the rest is super! Highly recommended.
