How to Get There
Excellent service from friendly staff. Very well located for business. The breakfast was wide ranging and excellent except for the coffee, which was best avoided. Nice gym and swimming pool. Business Deluxe room was exemplary.
7th Stay in the Berlin Palace and never disappointed- As a former Hotel Manger I am in a position to find fault - seven years and still looking ! Small things matter and a huge effort by all at the hotel to ensure comfort and serenity is enjoyed by all.
When I booked on the advert via booking.com the advert stated 'book now and pay at the property' but they debited the full amount the next day. I'm not sure who's fault it is if it was the hotels or the website. Anyway, the rooms seem a bit dated as well as the corridors, it's a 5 star hotel but I've been in much better hotels even with one star less. I had a problem with the room attendants, they were knocking once and they storm in, this also happened with the maintenance man as I had a problem with my light in the wardrobe which was fixed. I complained about this at the front desk and was given a 50% voucher to use at their House of Gin bar which is a fantastic bar. On the other hand the staff are very friendly and recommend a lot of places to visit and view especially at the bar, the female bartender was very helpful in recommending drinks and where to go. The breakfast is good with a vast selection and the hotel is located in a very good location. However buy your own water from a supermarket or grocery store as a bottle of water will cost 11.00, I hope it was blessed by the pope himself for that price. All in all I will have to think about visiting again when in Berlin as it feels it was not enough value for the amount of money spent, I'd go back to the Gin bar though, it's really good.
