Holiday Inn Berlin, located in the city’s Friedrichshain district, is conveniently close to main transport hubs but far enough that you can enjoy peace and quiet, and a sound night’s sleep as soon as your head hits the pillow.
Offering a modern and cosy stay full of comfort and quality facilities, the hotel offers an easy and fuss-free stay – so you can focus on making the most out of a break in this culturally-acclaimed metropolis. Although simple, the interiors are by no means boring: bright shades and warm, wooden furnishings feature alongside fun, quirky ornaments.
Helpful amenities here include a health and fitness centre, 24-hour guest lounge, ice machine, a stream of business services and safety deposit boxes at reception. Just down the road is the very memorable East Side Gallery, and a brief tram ride will take you directly to shops, cafés, galleries and more historical landmarks.
How to Get There
My family and I booked a package deal with this hotel, we were very happy with the quality and design of the room. The hotel is modern, very clean and was good value.
The location is on the East Side, we would have preferred to stay somewhere more central. It is a little walk from the station, maybe 10 - 15 mins as you have to walk around some buildings or go under a bridge which took a little longer as we had kids. Located right next to the Mercedes Arena and part of the wall. It would be ideal for those wanting to explore the East Side. There are some good fast food options nearby with lots of restaurants further, across the bridge. Breakfast was ok, a little limited and repetitive.
It is not in the centre of Berlin but with an S Bahn stop nearby it does not take long to get to Alexanderplatz for example. A nice big room with a bright and good size bathroom. Comfortable bed and reasonable amount of space for your clothes, for 3-4 days anyway. The staff on the front desk were very helpful and fluent in English.
A large and airy breakfast room with a great selection of food and drinks on offer set you up for the rest of the day.
hotel is really confy, clean and neat room that seems to be refurbished yesterday. Great sleep in a comfortable bed in a sounds-proof room.
good continental breakfast with fresh bread and a rich selection of cold and warm food (I would have prefer fresh coffee instead of the instant from the machine thought) e loved our morning walk along the East Gallery just outside the hotel!!!
Directly accessible from the S- and U-bahn stations, this brand new Holiday Inn is the perfect place to stay. I was there to just need a bed for the night: comfy, spacious, clean, modern. I recommend without hesitation.
The walk from WarschauerStraße is down a number of concrete steps and under a bridge. It honestly feels far less threatening than you might think, but I suspect the available lift/elevator to street level doesn't actually work.
The hotel has free, quick WiFi, and multichannel television as standard. BBC World didn't seem to work for me, though. Kettle and hairdryer in room, too.
This is a lovely hotel directly opposite the Mercedes Benz arena which is very handy, if your wanting to go to an event there. Being a IHG Spire Elite rewards club member, I was welcomed by lovely young lady and was given a nice welcome. I had some interaction with a few team members and found them all to be courteous, polite and efficient. I believe this comes from the top with an excellent GM overseeing operations.
The room was lovely, the bed was cosy, an ambient tempreture is kept by a very good air conditioning. The hotel is modern and new. And like much of the very changing face of Berlin there is currently allot of construction going on around the hotel which is not disruptive and will add many benefits in the near future with a huge modern shopping mall and a IHG indigo hotel. I will also mention the wonderful Holiday Inn pillow menu to select your favourite type pillow, and the room was very clean and well kept by an effecient house keeping, with the rooms made up brilliantly everyday. The curtains in the room are block out, so a sleep in is possible. Dont forget to put your do not disturb sign out.
If your hungry, the room service is very good, with a healthy to naughty selection of food delivered quickly and hot. There’s a nice restaurant down stairs on the ground floor with a Starbucks café as well. The Breakfast is also served here and is a Buffet and a large selection all very tasty, delicious and tempting. Overall a very nice stay, with a visit to the nearby Berlin Wall museum and exploring the eclectic old eastern side of Berlin.
