Behind an elegant brick façade in Berlin’s City West district (within easy reach of blockbuster sights and steps from the Kurfürstendamm shopping boulevard), the H10 combines sleek modern interiors and original design features from its previous incarnation as a 19th-century schoolhouse. The airy lobby has an opaque glass ceiling and is decorated with custom-designed chrome and leather furniture and an eye-catching metal sculpture of a diver in midleap. The historic wing preserves traditional high ceilings and large windows, and everything works like a well-oiled machine at this warm and welcoming city crash pad.
Bed and Bath
The streamlined look of the public areas continues in the light-drenched guestrooms, which pack plenty of style and amenities into a fairly compact space. All offer free WiFi, wall-mounted LED TVs and AC, and rooms in the Privilege category feature such perks as a Nespresso coffeemaker, a pillow menu and access to a private lounge for free snacks and beverages. The fluffy robes and slippers come in handy for trips down to the spa. The sparkling bathrooms feature rain showers, plenty of counter space and a full complement of H10-branded amenities. The 199 rooms are split between the historical wing and a modern annex.
The lobby feels like an oversize living room where guests can pick up a tome in the reading lounge, surf the web in the business corner, or lounge on a Bedouin-inspired armchair in the bar. Off to one side, the Salt + Pepper restaurant serves modern international favorites; it doubles as a breakfast lounge until 11 a.m. After a full day of sightseeing, kick back with tapas and cocktails on the quiet garden terrace, or hit the petite but stylish spa for a sauna, steam or massage.
In the Area
Situated in the City West district, the H10 is mere steps from the Kurfürstendamm, Berlin’s top shopping boulevard, a two-mile cosmopolitan cocktail of designer labels, hip boutiques and the century-old department store KaDeWe, with its must-see food hall. Have lunch here or take a shopping break in the enchanting garden of the Café im Literaturhaus. Nearby, the Story of Berlin multimedia museum delivers an edutaining introduction to the city’s turbulent history, including a tour of a Cold War atomic bomb shelter. Younger travelers will be enthralled by the critters at the Berlin Zoo, which is part of the vast Tiergarten, which has rambling paths, idyllic ponds and fun beer gardens including the Café am Neuen See.
How to Get There
this is a centrally located hotel with good size of room and comfortable beds. the bathroom was nice, amenities are OK. the breakfast was OK, not like the ones I am used to in 5* hotels in Germany, the entrance has a big hall, nice to sit and chat. the wifi has good reception
It’s a nice hotel in a good location with many redeeming features. However the service is very poor and the standard of the room we stayed was not good enough. The room servicing was poor with a complete lack of any kind of sign off of what had been completed or replenished.
By far the worst part of the hotel is the service in the bar area. The twice I’ve used the facility today I’ve sat there for ages with a menu and still had to go and find someone to take my order.
For the above reasons I would not stay in this hotel chain again or recommend it.
The hotel was perfect, atmosphere was wonderful, cozy & friendly the receptionists all were great, smiling all the day. Rooms are big, bed was comfortable everything is perfect there. Location is perfect in the middle of the Ku'damm (center of Berlin) beside the C&A & at the corner you will find the most famous restaurant in Germany Vapiano
The only missing was the room service, we were traveling for a business trip, we have booked several rooms. Usually we drink our coffee (inside the room) at the morning (before cleaning) but after we return back from our exhibition, daily we find the cups in same location and room service didn’t clean them neither replace them with another new cleaned cups. Same for the bathroom tools, when we use the shower cap or any other item they never replace it with new one!! Although it’s a disposable items.
But again I defiantly recommend the hotel for any business or holiday trips price is affordable and the overall atmosphere is really prefect.
Lovely clean hotel in a great loction, staff were very helpful and we received a bottle of wine and cakes as a birthday surprise. The room was a little small for the three of us but it was quiet and comfortable. We used the tube to travel around Berlin which was fairly straight forward, the highlight of our trip was to the Olympic stadium which was full of history.
I had booked to stay at this hotel on a "black Friday" deal, unfortunately on arrival there was an issue with the allocated room, this was raised with the reception staff and without any fuss they rectified the situation, thank you for the excellent service. Hotel is in a great location, it is modern and stylish, with contemporary decor, room (608) was spacious and had all the extra's that you would expect when staying with the H10 group. Breakfast was very good with a choice of hot/cold food and the staff throughout the hotel were very friendly and welcoming.
