The Lowdown

This four-star hotel in buzzing Berlin puts you right in the middle of the city, all the while providing a quiet retreat from the action. The famous KaDeWe department store is just a five-minute walk away, and, if you’re visiting at Christmas, you’ll be within easy access of Berlin’s renowned festive markets in the magical Gendarmenmarkt, so you won’t have far to travel with your shopping bags at the end of the day. For something a little more tranquil, head to the beautiful Tiergarten or take a walking tour of Berlin’s sights.
Back home, you’ll love kicking back in your boldly appointed room, complete with a flat-screen TV. The bright Restaurant Julius dishes up Mediterranean cuisine and international favorites, while the informal Bar Berlin, Berlin is a great spot to sip fine wines, warm up with a hot toddy and sample German beers. You can also order up a refreshing ice-cold drink with the hotel’s general manager: It’s here that the accomplished marathon runner ends his occasional running tours with hotel guests.

Decorated in vibrant colors, every room at the Hotel Berlin, Berlin comes with air conditioning and a mini-fridge. You’ll have use of a desk, plus a HDTV with a great in-room entertainment system. Premium rooms offer more space than the Deluxe rooms and offer the added perks of a working area and, in some rooms, a balcony.

Opened in the 1960s, Restaurant Julius serves up Mediterranean cuisine and international favorites, while the Bar Berlin, Berlin is the perfect spot for German beers or just a homemade cocktail to sip as the world goes by.

Leisure facilities at the Hotel Berlin, Berlin include a modern gym for keeping yourself fit after all those frites, plus a Finnish sauna. If you want to exercise and explore on two wheels, you can also rent bicycles at the 24-hour front desk.

This hotel is in a fabulous location for seeing the sights of Berlin. The Berlin Zoo and the Kurfürstendamm shopping street are both just a five-minute metro ride away, as are numerous shops and restaurants. Checkpoint Charlie, Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag are all within a leisurely 35-to-40 minute walk if you’ve packed some trusty shoes, or no more than 15 minutes by taxi/public transport.

City Break

We had a lovely large room, spotlessly clean. Very comfortable beds and bedding. Fridge for keeping drinks in. Lovely breakfast every morning with so much on offer, you are spoilt for choice.
Quite well located, taxis and bus routes directly outside, for easy access to tourist spots and a few stops away from KaDeWe on the bus.

Disappointing and no answer to our email...

This is the message we sent after our stay... we never got an answer from them !
« We were disappointed by your place. The room smelled bad and had an awful light, the kitchen was always full of people so it was impossible in practice to use it, the lounge is too small and always crowded, there are not enough toilets for the number of rooms, and on top of that, we had to pay for the towels (even if it is a small amount this is something you don’t expect when you pay 63 euros for a night !).
Surely we will go to a hotel next time, it is maybe a little bit more expensive, but not much, and at least you can have a place to rest »

We stayed here for long weekend ,and room was ok good size ,it lack of amenities in room ,empty mini bar ,no kettle or tea ,4 coffee pods for machine ,but not every one drinks coffee.first shower I took water came out of floor drain in bathroom and flooded floor .reception staff quite helpful but could not recommend a good resteraunt ,on second evening we when down to bar for a drink and could not see the bar never mind get a drink as a conference was on overall hotel ok but more geared up for corporate travelers

My room was upgraded to Jr Suite style . Nice and spacious , with a Pink Floyd type wall behind the bed . Reception staff were always pleasant . The hop on / hop off bus is just across the road and you can walk to K'Dam shopping Street and Zoo in a few minutes .
It is quite large , so maybe a little less personalised in places , but for most it will be a well priced first class hotel with good facilities and location

Comfortable stay with helpful staff

Arriving in Berlin was lovely and arriving to the comfort that Hotel Berlin offered as extraordinary! The staff was incredibly helpful right from the start and made us feel welcomed. The room was large and spacious and felt like home for the 8 nights that we stayed for business- attending ITB Berlin Travel Trade Show.

The only concern I had was the "laundry" service that turned out to be very expensive and more of a Dry Cleaning service. Had I known the cost of the service (although I asked before and did not get a clear answer) I would NOT have opted for this service.

Their room service is ridiculous though- $9.50 euros for every delivery... so i run down for my meals instead of ordering in which was inconvenient but necessary to saving money.
