How to Get There
Everything about this hotel was excellent. Our room was large and clean. The staff was helpful and nice. We had a room which included breakfast at the cafe. The breakfast there was tasty. Coffee was Starbucks, which was a plus.
This is a very tired hotel, it needs a total renovation.
Mediocre restaurants with food to match.
This is not luxurious in any way but it is not cheap either. Diamonds members enjoy very few perks, no upgraded room and no free breakfast.
This hotel would not be my first choice when traveling through ATL again.
The 60%-of-the-room-cost-per-night hold is a ridiculous amount, that likely goes unnoticed by big business, but creates an embarrassing scene for frugal customers who simply aren't interested in hyper-inflated room service or hotel branded towels.
There for small convention with friends for 2 nights. Con facilities are fine and sports bar has ice cold beer. My main complaint is that I chose the upgraded room based on the online description (screenshot below) only to find when I arrived that the executive lounge doesn't exist any longer. I would not have paid an extra $80 just for a slightly nicer room and view of the city through a dirty window; I wanted access to free sodas and continental breakfast and snacks. I was quite annoyed when I found out I wasn't getting what I thought I paid for, but I did get breakfast vouchers at check in so decided to blow it off since I figured they were worth about $50 of the $80. And then I looked more closely at the vouchers and realized they were not "breakfast vouchers" in the traditional sense but only offered a free breakfast sandwich and a coffee from the small shop, not the dining room, and only until 10am. And then I was annoyed again. I don't drink coffee and don't eat meat so was unlikely to get much out of that small offering, which is why I would not have paid for it if I'd known.
When I asked about all of this at the front desk I was told that they haven't had executive service since last May and that was it. No offer to give me actual breakfast as a consolation, nothing.
You can also see from the photos of the bathroom door that the room is okay but not terribly well kept up. The bed was comfortable enough and there was a view of the Atlanta skyline (window was very dirty though).
I attended our Toastmaster Conference here for 2 days and it was exceptional! The location was right at the airport and easily accessible. The staff was conscientious and professional on each level. The food was excellent and the desserts to die for! All meeting rooms were spacious, well arranged and climate control was great!
Who doesn’t LOVE the Hilton???
