Average sums it up

First time W stay after many years being a Marriott elite traveller and I expected a bit more for the premium price over comparable hotels in the area. The lobby area was fine, there is a nice rooftop lounge, but the guest rooms felt more average than boutique. The furnishings and decor as expected are modern, but some of the newer Marriott properties I've stayed at we're more impressive. When I think of boutique in the larger hotel chains, Kimpton would be a comparable chain, where each hotel is unique. Staff at the W were very friendly, although trying to get an upgrade was not easy and there was no mention of what elite options we're available to me - such as breakfast, points or a welcome gift.. This is a solid 4 star hotel and if it was a Marriott or Westin I would have rated it higher. Comparing it to some JW Marriott ,Autograph or Kimpton properties I've stayed at the last few years and average is a fair rating for this specific hotel.

Staff went above and beyond!

My sister and I, along with our 2 year old Siberian Husky, went on a "staycation" to the W in Buckhead. We only stayed for one night but had SUCH a great time! We definitely aren't used to hotels above 3 stars (we're more of a Holiday Inn family lol) but wanted to splurge a little on our night out. Although we were embarrassingly awkward about valet, staff helping us with our bags, and pretty much everything else, they went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Peyton helped us at checkin from valet up to our room with our bags and gave us great information about the hotel and amenities. He also helped us with our luggage the next morning and we were so happy to see him again. He had a great attitude & interacted professionally with other guests while he was helping us. Another person I wanted to mention was Thaddeus. He gave my pup so much love (and couple delicious treats) and was even excited to see her the next morning. The way to my heart is by loving my dog, and I am honestly excited to stay at the W again because of this. The room, location, and everything else was great of course, but I have worked in customer service a long time and know that a business can't thrive without great staff members. That's why I wanted to point out the two that made our trip above and beyond!

Site seeing/ Baseball Game Visit
Reviewed 6 days ago

We traveled to Atlanta to do a little site seeing and go to the Braves Phillies game and choosing the W Buckhead was a great decision. The hotel decor is stylish and the staff is very helpful. One of the best features is the location which is next to the Lenox Mall where my wife and daughter enjoyed shopping. The hotel is also close to Marta the train which we used to go downtown for site seeing. The Suntrust stadium for the Baseball game was an Uber ride away. So the location is convenient. The pool was really nice and overlooked the street several stories above. The bar on the roof was awesome with spectacular views of downtown and the foothills. The best part of the hotel was the staff who were super friendly and helpful. Especially finding my daughters stuffed animal. If you are looking for a hotel that has great service and attention to detail stay at the W Buckhead. We plan to comeback again for a Falcons game and more site seeing.

Not impressed

This swanky modern hotel was too "boutique" for my taste. There was no way to adjust shower water temp without getting half your body wet before you were ready (who wants to stand in cold water waiting for it to warm up?), bathroom sink backed up. Dim room lighting is great for mood lighting, but bad for reading. Co-workers rooms were near nightclub and they heard music all night. Another co-worker's toilet did not flush. Lobby filled with partying 20-somethings.

Pool was disappointing....Rooms small but ok

Great location in Buckhead with fancy clean modern rooms and a LIT rooftop lounge and bar on Fridays & Saturdays ... but pool is just way too small. Valet for $40. Only valet option, no self park. Good hotel if you can get it for a deal and don’t care about relaxing by the pool.
