Dark wood wainscoting, marble floors and gilded-frame oil paintings lend a grand elegance to the lobby of this Buckhead property. Upstairs, light-filled rooms have a more airy, modern look with a soothing palette of gray, peach, and cream. Mahogany hardwood floors, flatscreen TVs, and marble bathrooms with Italian vanities and rain showers add to the pampering. You can access cardio and weight-training machines and an indoor saline pool at the well-equipped fitness center, or unwind at the ninth-floor spa, where seasonal body treatments and facials are offered. Breakfast or lunch can be taken at the Coffee Bar, which prepares house-made cold brews, teas, and pressed juices like the Revitalize, made with green apple, celery, lemon, parsley, and ginger. For dinner, snag a table at Trade Root, which specialized in Mediterranean-inspired recipes.
In the Area
The Whitley puts you in the center of the shopping mecca of Buckhead. A stay in the suburbs is certainly not complete without a trip to the mall. Luckily, the hotel is within walking distance of the exclusive designer havens of Phipps Plaza and Lenox Square. Looking for something more local? Once a warehouse district, Bennett Street now plays host to local clothing boutiques, antique stores and art shops. Afterwards, refuel with the farm fresh vegetable sampler of local produce and the grilled BBQ chicken with sea island red peas and Carolina gold rice at the packed Horseradish Grill.
How to Get There
Excellent service and great rooms. First time in Buckhead and glad we chose this hotel. We felt at home great checkin and checkout experience. Everyone was extremely friendly in all department. It was very up to standards. Rooms were so clean I want to thank housekeeping as they do a great job.
Will definitely recommend! Hope to be back soon!
There are a plethora of hotel options in Atlanta, I'd recommend finding accommodations elsewhere. This is the type of place that will nickle and dime you for movement on the snack tray, yet when the power goes out (for hours), will not even entertain having a conversation with the guests. Recent reservations a few weeks back and the power was out for hours, the pool and gym was closed for renovation and we were not made aware when booking, and have not been able to speak to anyone in a leadership role at the hotel about this. Over the past few weeks, I have made numerous calls, left messages, and sent emails and told management would "call me back" yet nothing. Guest Services has nothing more than an unsympathetic 'tough luck' response. Reached out directly to Director level management at the hotel and not even an acknowledgement.
I have been polite, I have not asked for anything other than to talk to someone. This place will not spare 5 minutes to chat with a guest over a negative experience.
The gym is a nice-to-have, but electricity is a basic necessity. If this hotel does not even have the common courtesy to acknowledge multiple phone calls or emails regarding a necessity that would deem a property uninhabitable, how do you think they are going to treat your request for turn down service or go out of their way to celebrate a significant event.
There are a dozen other hotels in the immediate vicinity, I recommend you find lodging elsewhere.
Very nice staff and nice accommodations overall. Lounge is nice and staff is very friendly. Only annoyance was half of the elevators had keycard issues so they wouldn't read anyone's room keys. You were forced to take it to the lobby and take and wait for a different elevator to get to your desired floor. Hoping this issue is fixed by now. Overall good location and nice amenities.
