A refreshingly chintz-free zone, this 19th century mansion-turned-six-room inn offers contemporary décor–think polished hardwood floors, a muted color palette and luxe fabrics–accented by an impressive art collection that includes prominent names from the 20th and 21st centuries. Common spaces include a front parlor with a baby grand piano, an ideal spot to enjoy a house-baked snack, which might include treats like lemon bars or goat cheese, rosemary, and honey filo parcels.
In the Area
Get in the Gone with the Wind spirit at the Margaret Mitchell House, the Tudor Revival mansion where the Atlanta native wrote her famous novel, then go highbrow at the High Museum of Art, which features contemporary art and architecture from starchitects Richard Meier and Renzo Piano. Take a green break in Piedmont Park, which offers diversions from horse-and-carriage rides and a farmer’s market to winter ice skating, then continue the green theme at Woodfire Grill, known for its locavore-oriented kitchen.
How to Get There
What a wonderful B&B. A real home from home. No expense spared in this property and wonderful decor. Lots of attention to detail. John and Grace our hosts were delightful. Very comfortable beds and rooms. Loved the little details.
Beautiful B&B in that is walkable to many restaurants and businesses. I was in Atlanta for business but this would be a great vacation location. The breakfast was excellent and perfectly sized. It is also available early enough for me to get to my meetings, even though I am sure this was additional work for them.
I have stayed here more than once, which, I think, is enough of a review in itself...It is an impeccable experience. Grace and John are brilliant hosts. Go and have a glass of wine in the parlor or grab one of Grace's little treats to enjoy on the back porch and just relax....
