How to Get There
The employees at the Westin make this hotel what it is. They are very friendly accommodating and go out of their way to make you feel like you are at home. The facilities or nice and clean. They also provide clean rooms and entertainment such as a large screen TV in your room. We were here for a conference and the conference space was very accommodating and just a short walk to get to the space. I enjoyed being here as this was my first time staying in the Westin and I shall return.
We visit Savannah every year for St. Patrick's Day and weekend. We love the Westin and how it is just a small ride away from the main part of the celebration and River Street. It is also just minutes away across the bridge. St. Patrick's can be very busy and The Westin is very private and they only allow guest on the property. They have great food and room service. Last trip got a very high floor room with a wonderful balcony. Riverside of course. The views are amazing. Drinking coffee in the morning watching the boats go by at sunrise is a perfect way to start the day. It can be very pricey during this time but it is well worth it. The resort room is very nice and they have a great bar and a Starbucks located on site. The parking is an extra daily fee but it is a private parking lot and that is always a bonus in Savannah.
Upon arrival, I was met by Maurice "Mo" who had a big smile and very eager to be of service with my luggage. Mo was very courteous and an overall good human. He eagerly assisted with anything asked of him. The entire staff was friendly, but Mo was memorable. The room was fresh and everything was perfectly clean. Bed is super comfortable! Not a super firm mattress similar to a park bench. The river view is a beautiful view! Highly recommend this hotel and spa for your stay in Savannah.
It's like a resort in the little city. You just take a river boat across to downtown. It's free. And everything in Savannah is pretty much walking distance from the waterfront. Pool is actually really really nice.
So I have no issues with the room or facility but the food is another story. Yesterday lunch was fine with build your own sandwich etc. Breakfast this morning was not great with sausage that was still cold from a lack of through heating. Plated lunch today was a disaster. I have never had such dry chicken, mushy risotto ( I guess that was the goal) and dry undercooked carrots. Guess it all sat out too long because I also wound up with a stomach ache which I will attribute to the salad/dressing. Typical of a conference but come on folks you can do better than that.
