Wow - what a beautiful, comfortable room!

This really was the most beautiful and comfortable room that we stayed in for the whole of our trip!

The Inn is in a superb location- moments away from the historic centre but quiet and peaceful. No problem parking right next to the Inn. It is beautifully done - an authentic period air combined with modern comforts.

Of particular note is the drinks and canapés in the early evening - comfortable chairs, magazines and company! All the civilised components of a good evening.

Our room was wonderful - so attractive, double aspect and lovely en suite. I cannot praise it highly enough.

The reception staff were so helpful and informative. They made me a fresh cup of tea on request in the evening and they were so helpful. Recommendations if requested, friendly but not intrusive. It was a bit chilly whilst we were there but in better weather there is also a lovely garden.

Top notch accommodation - and book direct rather than through a third party- everyone benefits, I understand!

Fall in Savannah - My favorite Inn

Once again I wanted to review this beautiful property. I stay here now on a quarterly basis doing business in the area and I treat myself to this lovely inn when I'm here. This time I was able to get the two level Thomas Jefferson suite again - very convenient for a casual work meeting before going out to a business dinner. The staff here simply cannot be more friendly and accommodating. I am a vegetarian and they always cater to my requests no matter what amazing breakfast is being served - if it happens to have meat. Although I am a familiar face, staff including housekeeping is unfailingly hospitable and genuine. Use the courtyard with its many plantings this time of year and visit with Miss Kitty who has good taste in her living arrangements!

The Good, The Bad & the Ugly

The Good: The room was very large, clean and had a nice balcony. Parking (on-site) was available.
The Bad: 1) I think the bed was from the 1800's...almost falling apart ( I had to actually pound it back together with mi fist a few times. 2) There was NO personnel at all on site from the evening to early morning. (What if you need something or have an emergency?)
The Ugly: There were 2 absolutely horribly rude women who worked the front desk during the day. 1) There was NO waste receptacle at the coffee table, so my wife just left a napkin & packaging from hot chocolate powder on an empty plate and put it aside....one of the women rudely corrected her and said "That's not a garbage can" . So I said "Well than maybe YOU should provide one? 2) Then another day, while one of the women was sitting at the front desk (I was in full view) she continued to play on her IPhone while I waited for 10 minutes until a (very nice) gentleman came in and got me some ice for my wife's insulin 3) On the day we were leaving one of the women (same one that made such a fuss about the non-existent garbage receptacle) was very loudly arguing with a guest at the front desk about the guest's children not eating all of their food that morning and "wasting it"....The woman, who was MUCH more polite than I would have been, considering the LOUD, RUDE and obnoxious demeanor of the hostess... said "If they did leave any food on their plate, it WAS PAID for..., so what is your problem?" Then, the woman at the desk (in front of everyone present) told her (very rudely) "Take your kids & leave...and Don't come back"......
These 2 women were the most rude, obnoxious hosts of a B+B) that you could possibly imagine. To be fair, the gentleman that worked there in the early daytime was extremely courteous....Do yourself a big favor though...Stay across the street at the Kehoe House (EXCELLENT accommodations, breakfast, concierge service, and ALL of the personnel are extremely courteous and helpful) For that matter, ANY other B+B in Savannah will be more pleasant than having to deal with these 2 women at the the "Presidents Quarters" .....Of course, this was a Savannah trip back in February of 2018, so (hopefully) these 2 women have been terminated or (at least & more appropriately) employed where they have no human contact?
