Comfortable room in beautiful, historic property

Our night at the Marshall House was marred only by a 5AM fire alarm (false alarm). The room and bed were wonderfully comfortable; the staff was very attentive. We chose valet parking for a seamless arrival and departure. The location of the Marshall House is perfect for our needs - lots to see and do within walking distance. We would definitely choose the Marshall House again!

Lovely Hotel

Stayed one night and would have stayed another if there hadn't been a hurricane. Friendly staff, cozy room and it was clean. There is a wine and cheese at 5 and on the night we were there the GM talked about the hotel, very interesting history. Good location, we walked to bars and restaurants. The breakfast is extra but is very reasonable for the selection offered. Really don't have anything negative to say about this hotel.

Really great place and amazing staff

We loved staying here. Very friendly and helpful valet greet you at the curb, introduce themselves, assist with your bags and escort you inside to a beautiful lobby. Check in was very fast and easy. The location is perfect for exploring Savannah. The hotel is historic built in 1850, high ceilings, an occasional uneven floor or door, large windows, old fireplaces in rooms and some hallways. We had a king room on the 2nd floor, comfy bed, tons of pillows, nice bathroom with tile shower and floors. The only drawback was the very noisy air conditioning so you'll want to use the earplugs which they have thoughtfully provided! Everything else the hotel offers makes up for this. Complimentary wine and cheese in the evening with a historian speaking one night, music another night was a wonderful part of the stay. Breakfast was great too! Buffet style in the beautiful sunny atrium with a big selection....quiche, eggs, waffles, pastries and much more. We had a Rise and Dine package so it was included with our room but I think it's around $11 if you have to pay. It's well worth it and probably no more than any other restaurant. Overall I highly recommend staying at the Marshall House!

Such a perfect hotel in a perfect location!

This hotel is beautiful and has such southern charm! It was a perfect location with an easy walk to restaurants and shops! Our rooms were great on the second floor and we really thought it was a bonus to get bottled water each day by the front door as we left, and as we returned each day! The concierge staff was very accommodating and set up our Trolley tour and our Haunted Pub Crawl. The Bell staff were always so hospitable and had great recommendations for restaurants...we loved Henry's around the corner, suggested by Barnard. Our best meal during our 3 night stay was at the restaurant attached to the hotel, 45 Bistro. The GM was our server and was so pleasant and accommodating. I will definitely stay again if I return to Savannah.

Perfect location & incredible staff

My fiancè and I are recently engaged and came to Savannah to celebrate for a working vacation. We knew we wanted to settle into the historic district and be close to the downtown action - The Marshall House is in a great location for that.

The Staff: Rachel, Jackie and the WHOLE staff were phenomenal. We arrived way before check in (flight landed very early) and were able to help ourselves to the coffee, tea, lemonade and infused water. When we ventured out, the doorman made sure we grabbed a chilled bottle of water while exploring Savannah. I asked to borrow a book in their library and Rachel happily "checked" it out for me. Rachel also personally microwaved our leftover lunch one day (heated to perfection!). All in all, 5 Stars for the staff.

The Amenities: Our king bed room was a great size for our 7 night stay. We had a nice desk in the room that could easily fit 2 laptops for some remote work (which we took advantage of). The cleaning staff kindly left a fresh bag of towels, 2 bottles of water and some bathroom toiletries every time we put the Privacy sign on the door (working remotely, again).

The Cons: Not much to say here, but there was an unfavorable incident our first night after long travels... 5:11am we were woken by a fire alarm, evacuated with 4+ firetrucks surrounding the building. The staff later that day didn't have any answers to what exactly happened, either. The other "con" is bittersweet. It's a beautiful historic building with so much charm, but the walls are thin and everytime our neighbor let the heavy door slam shut, it sounded like it was our own door.

We loved our stay at The Marshall House, we truly felt spoiled and adored even as we checked out. I highly recommend.
