Boutique sleep with quintessential Southern service and a modern vibe in Savannah’s historic downtown district

The Look

In a city where Old South nostalgia sells like candied pecans on every street corner, the Andaz’s mix of modern creature comforts and Old World charm offers a break from the norm. Guests find subtle nods to the city’s heritage: Exposed brick that hearkens to the 18th- and 19th-century cotton warehouses that line River Street and a green palette that hints at the Spanish moss dripping from the live oak trees outside.

Bed & Bath

Upstairs, contemporary comforts abound: Dean & Deluca snacks, a comfy king bed, a flat-screen TV and sleek furnishings. Walls are painted in muted pastel shades so its the bright patterned furnishings that supply the modern dashes of color. Bathrooms are spacious and have whimsical design details — a series of mirrors above my deep soaking tub formed a dreamy fleur-de-lis.

Start the evening with a round of Savannah Sparklers (basically a mojito with prosecco instead of rum) at the cozy bar then fold into 22 Square restaurant for dinner. The self-styled “community-to-table” restaurant serves quintessential Southern dishes including pulled pork with corn cake and low-country style oysters etouffee, plus must-try grits at breakfast. Later, take your pick from the Andaz Insider itineraries (with options for architecture buffs, family outings, music lovers and more) and explore the Hostess City like a local.

How to Get There

Andaz Savannah – a concept by Hyatt
14 Barnard St
Savannah, GA 31401 United States

First class accommodations in the heart of historic Savannah. Everything we needed to feel at home away from home is right here. I prefer smaller boutique hotels and this one is wonderful. Parking is very convenient to this location. Centrally located within walking distance to many sites. Breakfast is super scrumptious too.

Rating for recent stay.

Recent stay at Andaz Savannah while attending a business conference at the Hyatt Regency. Notable deficiencies were room service. Reception was exceptional. Parking attendants and bellhops provided excellent services.

Dog Friendly/Southern Hospitality
Riva D

Situated conveniently on Ellis square, just steps away from City Market, Andaz is a wonderful, centrally located hotel in walking distance from all Savannah's major downtown attractions. The room was a bit small, but very clean and with a great view of the square. They are not kidding when they say dog friendly! Our dog was greeted with oversized dog treats from Woofgang Bakery every time we returned to the hotel. The pool area is also quite pretty, although a little chilly for having the option to be heated, and the terrace bar was closed during our stay. The in room snacks and free mini fridge (non-alcoholic) drinks were a nice touch. Overall definitely recommend!
