How to Get There
I booked this room last minute as a father’s day get away for my dad, my brother & I. I had never been here before and had no idea what to expect because pictures and the reality of some hotels don’t match. I was extremely pleased when I entered the hotel and heard the jazz band playing in the grand lobby. It felt like I had walked into a different decade, in a good way. After checking in, we went to our room and was blown back even further because the room was so large and spacious. I have been telling everyone about this hotel since my stay. I will definitely be back.
We were in Galveston for a departed friend's memorial. We had stayed at this hotel before and were looking forward to our visit. Our room (444) was noisy, musty, dusty and in need of a deep deep cleaning.
Our room was on the corridor leading to the roof top lounge and guests coming and going were quite noisy up to closing time at midnight.
This is not what we expected from a Whyndam property.
LOVE LOVE LOOOOOVE THIS PLACE. I do not like the old days vibe and this hotel has that. However, it has this very modern and classic touch to it . Will recommend 10/10.
Room: Extremely clean. The bathrooms are spotless ( it even has a heating rack for your towels to keep it warm). The beds are so comfy that I did not want to get off!
Lobby: Very nice and classy area. The staff are extremely friendly. There is jazz music in the evening .
Valet: suuuuper nice. A little slow, but its also because they have so many customers that they have to deal with.
Pool: So the hotel itself does not have a pool, but they have a sister property called ‘hotel galvez’ where the Tremont guests are allowed. The valet for the Tremont works there as well. THE POOL IS SOOOO GORGEOUS. There is a pool bar and the staff comes and take care of your like royalty. The pool is temperature controlled and salt water. The decor is breathtaking. They also have a jacuzzi!
Breakfast: breakfast is not included. You have to pay extra for that. That has a major no no for me considering we paid $360 to stay for ONE night. This is the first time that I have stayed in a hotel that has done this.
All in all, will recommend 100%
I attended a wedding reception at The Tremont House last weekend. The banquet space was very nice and perfect for the vent and number in attendance. Myself and my husband ar vegan and we’d very apprehensive about the meal we would be served. We shouldn’t have worried as the meal was excellent! Our server, Yazmin, was attentive without being obtrusive, and all while nursing a wrist in a brace. She was very personable and with a good sense of humor which I always enjoy.
My only oddity of the entire event was that the toilets are situated downstairs from the banquet hall. Not much of deal breaker for me but perhaps for the elderly. There are two elevators, but it just seemed weird. Perhaps that’s the quirkiness of a historic building.
Thoroughly enjoyed the event and kudos to the chef and kitchen for providing an excellent vegan meal. Much appreciated.
Great place to stay while in Galveston. Walking distance to all the local eateries, galleries, shops and bars. Great atmosphere with top notch service. Roof top bar with great views. Shuttle to the Galvez to hang out at the beach and pool.
