How to Get There
Lovely hotel with great suites.
We stayed 2 nights and took advantage of the pool/hot tub at the sister property, The Galvez Hotel. Your valet parking does work at the Galvez or you can use the valet shuttle.
The roof top bar in awesome for evening cocktails with friends, but after returning home and reviewing a receipt it had 5 drinks per 2 rounds. Problem is we only had 4 people. I checked with everyone and nobody fessed up to adding a drink. There are stories of ghost associated with the hotel.
They also do a bloody mary bar Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Delicious!
The only reason I didn't give them a 5 star is due to the mattress. It was very soft and sunken in the middle. Past time to replace.
We will return in the future.
Stayed one night in king bed suite #206 at the Tremont House in Galveston to celebrate my honey’s birthday before boarding a Disney cruise. Was very impressed with the friendly and skilled front desk staff and how quickly they prepared the suite because of our early check-in.
This corner suite has very high ceilings, separate living room and a specious bedroom. The large bathroom has a tub/shower combo, nice vanity and lots of space. Really liked all the extra closets and storage space. Booked on a AAA rate and breakfast was included. The upgrade to room #206 was well worth the moderate extra cost from a king suite because of the amenities and to celebrate my ho hney’s birthday. The Tremont House has an excellent location and was the highlight of our Galveston stay.
We had a blast walking around the Lone Star Rally, up and down the Strand and the hotel was very convenient. Love the Old World Class and history it has. We would definitely stay there again. The Rooftop Bar is the only one in Galveston--Bonus!!
High class snobbery and world class views are the perfect blend here on top of the (imho) best hotel in Galveston.
Wonderful place for quiet conversation. It’s in the open air - so go in good weather.
This is a go-to place for impressing out of town company and spending $100 for a so-so appetizer and drinks.
There was a motorcycle rally going on when we got there. It would have been nice to know that when we made our reservations. It was literally right outside of our window and seemed to go on forever. All afternoon/evening long it was just motorcycles starting and revving their engines. We ride motorcycles so its not like we're unfamiliar with it but that was ridiculous. You haven't lived until you've been forced to listen to 2000 motorcycles starting and leaving. This was then followed by the beep beep beep all night long of forklifts taking down the displays and barriers. Because of the rally, we had to valet around the corner from the hotel and my husband was on a knee scooter due to a recent surgery. There was no offer of assistance to get him to the hotel so he had to scoot through the uneven brick of the road and sidewalks trying to maneuver up and down all kinds of steps. A golf cart could have been used to transport him but it seems no one thought of that. Also, once we finally got to the hotel, there were about 12 steps to climb to the lobby. There is a lift there but no one offered to help us operate it and it had a luggage rack in it. A staff member did hold the door open for him so its not like they didn't know we were there or that he was unable to climb the steps. This happened every time we left or came back until someone at the front desk finally called for some help. The room was very nice but I was super disappointed in the staff and their attention to our needs. Not what I expected at all.
