How to Get There
Brunch delicious with huge variety of options but first time and found system surprising. Made reservations but had to wait in line to be seated. Also had to stand in line for buffet. Both lines are right by front entrance so congested and confusing to those coming in front door for first time. Suggestion would be to move reservation desk to back of lobby, place most desired items in room where desserts were, so out of traffic, and place several dessert buffets around banquet rooms to reduce traffic jams. Our waiter Teodor was wonderful and made our experience memorable! Would go again but now know what to expect.
Had a great 3-day visit and stay at this historic hotel. Had 2 adjoining 6th floor rooms, which was perfect for traveling with my mother who is elderly. Food is good; breakfast buffet and menu ordering excellent. Ask for server Teodor, who provides best service during our stay. Front desk and vallet staff all hospitable.
This is by far one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at and I travel for a living. The property looks nice and is not the issue. The customer service and general attitude of the hotel staff upon check-in led me to cancel my reservation even while I was still being charged for it. The young blond girl at the counter with the oversized hipster glasses had an absolutely terrible self-entitled spoiled attitude. She was very rude & very condescending. I wanted to cancel my reservation because upon check-in I was greeted with hostility and whatever hang up she has she apparently doesn’t know how to act professional.
I travel for a living for the last 15 years staying in hotels and resorts every weekend and I can honestly say I have never been treated so poorly and/or disrespectful way. This hotel should be embarrassed and seriously reconsider training their staff to provide a higher level of excellence in customer service.
I was told by the young lady I was less valuable because I booked through a third-party and that she didn’t have to handle any issues with me because I booked through another party? Shame on you hotel galvez
My daughter and I have been to numerous holiday brunches and we have loved them all. We had Nanette as our waitress on this visit and also have had her help us celebrate on several other occasions. She is a wonderful person and always keeps up on our needs for more drinks, a forgotten spoon or fork, or anything else we may need to enjoy our day. We would love to sit in her area everytime we come for more holidays.
I and my friend went to Galveston to the Hotel Galvez for their amazing Sunday Brunch. Our server was a young woman, Reni,
Who was absolutely fantastic. From the moment we were seated at our table until we departed Reni saw to our every need. She was sweet, polite and recommended dishes to try from the buffet. She was helpful, courteous and made us feel very comfortable. This was my first visit to the Hotel Galvez and I definitely will be coming back. Thank you Reni for your wonderful service and charming personality.
Hope to see you again soon.
