The Lowdown

Nestled in the heart of the Provence Hills on the French Riviera, La Vague de Saint Paul is a haven of lush green landscapes on the Cote d’Azur. Located on top of a hill near the charming medieval village of St-Paul-de-Vence, this modern hotel is surrounded by stunning scenery on its doorstep.
An artists’ haven since the early 19th century, explore the narrow streets of the village and visit local vineyards for a leisurely wine tasting. Sample regional delicacies by visiting the many Provencal markets for a taste of the Riviera. Historical monuments include the Grande Fontaine square, Folon chapel and the Maeght Foundation – a private European Foundation that contains one of the most important collections of modern art from the 20th century.
When you’re ready to unwind, the hotel spa awaits. Step into the full-service L-V Riviera Spa and relax in the Jacuzzi, steam room or sauna. Sit back on a comfortable outdoor sofa under the shade of an umbrella and savour a cocktail from the hotel bar. You don’t need to venture far to sample the best of Mediterranean cuisine –  head down to the Bistro Restaurant and Terrace for fresh, locally-sourced ingredients served in a bright dining room overlooking the hotel’s lush green surroundings.

Enjoyed our stay at La Vague and considered it a great value, given the comfort and excellent amenities which included an outside tennis court and patio. Staff was friendly and helpful. Checkin was easy and allowed us to leave our luggage until checking time. We did not have dinner or use their bar, but their breakfast was excellent with high quality products and great variety.

Hillside Escape

After spending time in the bustling Nice area my wife and I retreated a bit higher up in the hills near St.Paul De Vence...discovered this hotel online which was easier than finding it in person...definitely need a good GPS system...but it's a nice accommodation which tries to be an all-in-one-resort...staff is friendly and accommodating and speaks English...room was clean and while sufficient in size it was not overly spacious...we were down a level so had a patio that looked out on the tennis court but still felt a bit like we were below ground...pool was very nice...the attached restaurant advertises as fine dining and they do try...food was average and actually I'd say overpriced but you are a bit isolated so more or less captive unless you want to drive into Vence which is closest community...it's fine for one night but I would not stay more than that to tour this area.

Great place to stay!

Well situated for day trips in the area. (Venice, Grasse, Monaco, Nice) Close to many small towns and great restaurants. Quiet place to come back to in the evening. Would recommend to others and would stay again.

Fabulous food in a dated setting
Reviewed 8 months ago

A group of us ate here and all have raved about the food ever since. We had the taster menu washed down with some wonderful Rose. The food was beautiful, full of fantastic flavours and colours and couldn’t be faulted. The setting on the other hand could. The hotel is an old conference centre. It feels dated and certainly lacked any ambience on the night we were there. The staff were friendly and welcoming but hover too attentively at the table.
