An inviting four-star hotel near the iconic Promenade des Anglais in Nice, Le Grimaldi exudes timeless French elegance with its romantic Belle Époque facade, classic wrought-iron balconies, interior marble staircase and welcoming Provence-style rooms. Containing two townhouses adjoined by a courtyard, this family-run hotel sits on a quiet street near the Gare de Nice-Ville train station.
Le Grimaldi boasts an excellent location, mere blocks from the beach and the seafront promenade. You won’t need to stroll far for classic French cafés, lovely boutiques and the popular Old Town. You’re also close to the city’s attractive main square, Place Massena, where you’ll find the famous Galleries Lafayette selling chic labels. Meanwhile, a fifteen-minute walk away, Nice’s famous Cours Saleya market provides a different kind of shopping experience. Split between flower and food stalls, it attracts people from miles around. Be sure to check it out on a Monday, when it becomes an antiques market.
Good to know
Please note that a city tax of €1.50 per person, per night is payable directly to the hotel upon check-out.
Superior rooms are decorated in a Provençal style, with soft, bright tones and classic wrought-iron bed frames. The rooms range from 270-370 square feet and feature queen-sized beds.
There is a continental breakfast buffet (that the French always get right) available from 7-10am. We recommend heading to one of the two large salons for afternoon tea, and an ice cream bar is open from 2-7pm. For other meals, the area around the hotel offers an abundance of tempting Provençal restaurants in the neighboring streets.
Situated just a five-minute walk from both the beach and the central railway station, Le Grimaldi sits on the quiet street which it was named after – Rue Grimaldi. Keep walking a few more minutes and you’ll be in Nice’s popular Old Town, full of cafés, restaurants, boutiques and bars.
How to Get There
Originally stayed in 2017 and was very pleased. Provided a recommendation at that time
Stayed again sept 2019 with friends and was embarrassed and was very disappointed with the rooms provided
Staff is great Location great Breakfast fine but less variety. Rooms very poor. Air conditioning didn’t work in one room. Noise from neighbouring room. Could hear the whole conversation Wall paper peeling. Furniture I’m sure was purchased from a thrift store The two rooms are on the first floor above the breakfast room. They are adjoining rooms. They do not look anything like the hotel advertisement. Basically tired and very uninviting
Sadly I have rerated this hotel at best average based on the rooms. Given the price. Management should be on top of this.
sadly submitted by a disappointed traveler
We stayed nine nights at Hotel Grimaldi. This French hotel is small but clean, well managed and staff friendly and professional. Located a few short blocks from restaurants on Rue Massena, city center and shore. The front desk was particularly helpful and patient. Their recommendations for tours, restaurants and city activities were always outstanding. Cleaning staff were quiet and efficient. Small dining area always clean and breakfast was a good value. We were on street side and had no noise issues. Totally enjoyed our visit.
This hotel was perfect for our stay in Nice, it is very close to the tram and train station and very close to old nice and the beach
The hotel itself is really nice ,the room was great with a very comfortable bed and good shower. There is also free coffee and tea downstairs with a reasonably priced bar. The staff are also incredibly helpful and they offer free umbrellas and mats to take to the beach
All in all a great stay!
