How to Get There
Nice hotel and not to far from everything you want to see - Old Town is only a 15 min walk away. Staff were also friendly and helpful. Stayed in a Deluxe sea view room and it was lovely with a balcony and stunning view.
The room itself was smaller than we expected, but the only thing to really note was that the beds could have been better. Both public areas and the room were nice and tidy and spotless.
Breakfast is of a good standard and the restaurant very good if you don't want to walk to any of the other restaurants that are close by and a little further away.
All in all the best was enjoying the scenery from the balcony.
If you like luxury hotels, but have a limited budget - West End hotel is the solution for you in Nice. Situated in the middle of the promenade (near the Negresco hotel), with nice and spacious modern rooms, good breakfast, cosi loby and very helpful staff- who needs more?
Classic style hotel, with old world charm, in a really perfect position.
The hotel is in the center of the bay, an ideal place, for easy access to all the attractions and great for walking along the promenade. It is only a short ride from the airport.
One thing the hotel doesn't readily tell you, is that they run a pick up / drop off service for passengers coming by plane, much cheaper and far more convenient, than getting a taxi. Suggest they add this to their list of facilities
We did get an e-mail from the consierge offering us any help etc and when we asked him, he ordered the transport for us and answered all our questions immediately. Very impressed.
There is a lovely entrance lobby, two lounges, a bar, a breakfast room and restaurant. Pity no gym, and a pool would be a huge bonus.
The breakfast room is partly open air, offering buffet food, [some hot food, and items can be cooked to order, at a supplement,] but a decent selection, with probably the most efficient service I've ever known at a Breakfast! Food was regularly replaced, tables cleaned, every few minutes, but not at all intrusively. They even offered to make drinks for you, bring to the table, to avoid any queues!
The restaurant was excellent, the food amazing, the staff brilliant and the service great. They are happy for you to "adjust" the menu, so you can ask for the veg from one dish, in place of the one with your meal etc, SO helpful. Prices aren't cheap, [especially the wine], but the quality is outstanding. You really must indulge yourself and enjoy the experience!
The only annoying thing, was that reception offer you a voucher, for a 10% discount to hotel guests eating in the restaurant, which you HAVE TO GET BEFOREHAND! We assumed they would discount the 10% off our hotel bill, but this never happened.
So get your voucher before you eat!
The whole hotel is spotlessly clean and though it is old, it is in decent condition, though you can see the age of some parts. Wonderful to feel part of a 100 year old plus tradition.
The rooms all vary in shape and size. It is certainly worth paying the extra, for a sea view, because it is stunning!
We had a suite, which was enormous.
Rooms come with coffee maker, kettle and the usual tea/coffee, regularly refilled every day. We had two arm chairs, coffee table, a separate dining room, with table and four chairs, great for room service, plenty of lights, two balconies with chairs, huge bed, plus a separate bedroom, besides plenty of wardrobes and a bathroom, with separate toilet. The bathroom had lots of toiletries, also replenished daily.
There's a free safe and a fridge/mini bar.
All the staff are so friendly and helpful, you couldn't wish for a nicer hotel, will be back!
