How to Get There
My husband and I stayed at this hotel as part of our delayed honeymoon in France. The front desk attendants were lovely and helpful, especially when we asked about how we could get a cab at 5am to get back to the airport for our departing flight. The gentleman on duty noted our request for his colleague who'd be present that morning and sure enough the taxi was ready and waiting for us.
Upon arrival, our room wasn't yet ready (we got there well before the 3pm check-in), so we had lunch at Le Patio, the hotel's restaurant. We also ate our breakfasts there each morning. I'd rate Le Patio a 3/5. The food was average and the people working didn't seem to be especially happy. Its saving grace was the bartender working on our last evening there who let us borrow 2 place settings so we could enjoy our dinner of wine, cheese and bread on our balcony.
Our room was nice. The view was INCREDIBLE - it looked out at the beach, so we were able to see the sunset every night. I couldn't take enough photos of that view! The room (#115 for those keeping track) was a suite that had a really nice bathroom setup - private toilet room and spacious bathroom with double vanity, separate tub/shower, and a heated towel bar. The latter came in especially handy since 75% of the showers we took here were cold. There's definitely a problem with the hot water supply. This issue alone HAS to be fixed, especially since the hotel is in the "Small Luxury Hotels of the World" guide (perhaps that is just paid advertising).
The only other issue with the room was that I found the bed pillows to be uncomfortable (too hard), but this is very subjective.
We enjoyed our stay (despite the water issue) and would stay again.
Just back today and had a great stay all staff were friendly warm and welcoming and very helpful.room was clean and comfortable excellent location for the old town will definitely stay again at this hotel
My wife and I visited in September and had a room with a balcony overlooking the water... and we could see the Promenade des Anglais if we looked to the right. Very nice. The hotel is right next to the old town, which makes it very convenient for exploring the area.
This was a fun and interesting hotel. Based on how it was built into the side of the cliff, you have to wind down a couple of halls, walk a few steps to take the elevator to your floor. We had a balcony from which you have an gorgeous view overlooking the entire beach, buildings, and the American Promenade. The staff were terrific and even helped me with my French and combination of charades to get myself understood. They would even remind of the words I was looking to say. As a German and French major in college, I wanted to try to use my French, but it had been over 20+ years, since I had been there. The hotel was beautiful with its yellow and blue colors. It had a nice swimming pool and a great restaurant inside. Their breakfast buffet was outstanding with fresh fruit, unlike the US where pesticide and early picking destroys the flavor. The real yogurt I inhaled each morning with the best bananas I have ever eaten. Breakfast was pricey but so worth it. We loved the Hotel and will definitely go back. Nice is so fun, relaxed, with great food, shops, and, of course the beach. One of our favorite spots on our trip
This is a quirky historic property with tiny lifts and surprises everywhere. It is in an outstanding location and you can walk everywhere even to the beach. With the lovely pool and terraces you won’t want to leave. Staff were so helpful, especially Nathalie at the front desk.
