Anchored on the sunny shores of the French Riviera, in the postcard-worthy city of Nice, Hotel Aston La Scala is a sublime spot for soaking up the best of the Mediterranean. Right in the heart of the action, this contemporary-styled bolthole is moments away from Place Massena, the Old Town and the ombre bright blue ocean.
Back at your hotel, take advantage of the breathtaking sights from the sophisticated comforts of Le 7 Blue Bar – high in the sky, this rooftop terrace is the tallest in all of central Nice – and let the soothing sounds of jazz, blues and soul wash all over you. The view from your guestroom is also impressive and is right in line with the Baroque style buildings of Old Town across the promenade, and there’s also the Miroir d’eau, the world’s largest reflecting pool just outside your window.
How to Get There
Close to beach, transportation, old town restaurants, and newer shopping area... inside hotel was very classic and rooms had everything plus were very up to date. We would stay here again if we come back to visit Nice!
All good: location, breakfast, service, roof terasse, room... Absolutely recommendation. Everything is clean and fresh, location is central and service is good. Breakfast is really good and versatile for everyone.
We book 3 days, half board in a deluxe double room on the 6th floor (only floor with a balcony) at the front of the hotel. It is ideally situated close to the promenade, the shopping area and the old part of Nice. There is a lovely park area to the front of the hotel as well as a tram stop the other side of that, making it easy to get around at minimum cost to various parts should you choose to use it, although the warning bell they use can get rather annoying when trying to relax in your room with the window/doors open! The room was a reasonable size, clean and tidy with a couple of very minor issues with the shower door not staying shut properly and one of the mirror lights being out. While we don't go on holiday to watch TV, we do like to have it on in the back ground when we are in the room so it was disappointing when a large number of the channels shown had a weak or no signal. The staff were all very polite and helpful whenever we dealt with them for anything. The breakfast selection was good and never too busy, the food selection for dinner was very limited and as a result we didn't eat there on the 3rd night, there is a wide choice of alternative places to eat close by so save your money and try them. The bar on the 7th floor had live music on both the Friday and Saturday nights which was good, not too loud and made for a relaxing end to the evening. There are 2 lifts yet 1 was out of service for the duration we were there so during busy times we ended up walking up/down a number of times rather than wait for the remaining 1.
