Anchored on the sunny shores of the French Riviera, in the postcard-worthy city of Nice, Hotel Aston La Scala is a sublime spot for soaking up the best of the Mediterranean. Right in the heart of the action, this contemporary-styled bolthole is moments away from Place Massena, the Old Town and the ombre bright blue ocean.
Back at your hotel, take advantage of the breathtaking sights from the sophisticated comforts of Le 7 Blue Bar – high in the sky, this rooftop terrace is the tallest in all of central Nice – and let the soothing sounds of jazz, blues and soul wash all over you. The view from your guestroom is also impressive and is right in line with the Baroque style buildings of Old Town across the promenade, and there’s also the Miroir d’eau, the world’s largest reflecting pool just outside your window.
How to Get There
A very nice hotel where we got a decent price room through hotels.com, the room was very small but clean and a fantastic bed.
The heater was centrally switched off which wasn't excellent since it was a very cold may this year but we got the room changed by a very service minded Alex at the reception and that room was warmer.
Quite an expensive hotel but the bathroom really needed some renovation so we can't give the hotel the excellent review but
Excellent location, great views and easy access to the old town, the promenade shops, restaurants and coffee bars.
This was my second visit to the hotel and i will certainly be returning on my next trip to NIce.
I was greeted by a very welcoming receptionist, who allocated us a room even though we got there early (10:30). The hotel and rooms were refurbished so the interior is nice and comfortable. I would return to the hotel when I visit Nice next time.
Stayed same time last year with no negative comments. This time however one of the main facilities for us was the sun terrace which was closed for renovation. This was not mentioned on Expedia.com or Booking.com . Hotel were dismissive & rude when raised with them. Asked about an upgrade of room , but was told no rooms available. However this was clearly incorrect when checked on other websites including their own for the period of our stay!!! Other disappointing aspects of our stay included : window in bedroom not shutting properly so couldn't block out street noise & local rowdiness . Milk in room not refreshed; dirty rag left on bathroom floor by maid; frequent smell of drains; woken up twice by early morning 7am by hoovering in room above.
Hotel Aston staff were welcoming and provided excellent service. We had mentioned upon booking that our stay was for our honeymoon and were given an upgrade to a beautiful room with a balcony that overlooked the Old side of Nice and the beach. It was amazing. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend any couple to stay here also. The location was perfect - only a short walk away from the beautiful beach.
