Anchored on the sunny shores of the French Riviera, in the postcard-worthy city of Nice, Hotel Aston La Scala is a sublime spot for soaking up the best of the Mediterranean. Right in the heart of the action, this contemporary-styled bolthole is moments away from Place Massena, the Old Town and the ombre bright blue ocean.
Back at your hotel, take advantage of the breathtaking sights from the sophisticated comforts of Le 7 Blue Bar – high in the sky, this rooftop terrace is the tallest in all of central Nice – and let the soothing sounds of jazz, blues and soul wash all over you. The view from your guestroom is also impressive and is right in line with the Baroque style buildings of Old Town across the promenade, and there’s also the Miroir d’eau, the world’s largest reflecting pool just outside your window.
How to Get There
Really nice hotel. Our room faced the Main Street and was a nice size.
Great location for nights out in the old town and close enough to the shopping areas and the beach.
Rooftop bar was a nice place to sit for a drink at sunset.
The pool is very small.
Breakfast was really nice it’s a large selection of freshly prepared food.
We preferred this hotel to the Westminster hotel on the promenade des anglais that we also stayed in on this holiday.
We had a social event in the hotel few days ago where a dj was coming to play.
Upon arrival, we found that there were nothing prepared or installed in the meeting room. In addition, all the sound system that we required was rented already by another group of people and we didn't have any material available for us even if "Ms Mauduit" was aware about it and had the information already.
I personally didn't find this lady very polite or professional at all. She must be the intern there.
After asking everyone for a responsible, she came being quite lost with two more organisers and the answer we got was "there's no material available for you cause it's being rented already by other people" without offering us any other help, or not even proposing any other solution. They all seemed not to care about it at all.
Is this the customer service you expect from a 4 stars hotel??
I won't ever come back again.
The hotel itself seems beautiful though, but with this unqualified and rude staff working in, I wouldn't ever stay there.
We stayed here for 4 nights in September. I selected the hotel for its central location and also because it claimed to have a rooftop pool. The location is fantastic, very close to the shopping area of Jean Medecin, Nice Old Town and the Promenade des Anglais. However, we were disappointed with the rooftop pool which is very small and more like a splash pool than a swimming pool. The Rooftop bar prices were quite expensive too and it could get quite crowded. We had a Comfort Room which was big enough, clean, very comfortable and with good facilities. The buffet style breakfast was good but got very busy after 9.00am.
Overall we were very happy with the hotel and would definitely stay here again,
We have been to Nice a few times but not srayed in an hotel before. We chose this for its great central location, adjacent to the park with amazing multiple fountains feature, department stores close by, and links to public transport, plus good reviews. Very close to the old town, and the sea front. Simple to reach by 98 bus (or taxi of course) from the Airport. Modern feel to the rooms, just a few finishing touches lacking. Excellent roof top bar. Would happily return.
Staying 2 nights as part of tour Pkg with Globus/Monogram vacation. Having been in France 2+ weeks, worst hotel yet. Asked for room upgrade at checkin and told no rooms available tonight, sold out. Even more disappointed when we saw the room which is handicap accessible. This means a bed about 15” off the floor, very low and a challenge for us at nearly 6 ft tall. Basically a mattress on small platform, almost right on the floor. No place to hang clothes as closet is split in half with shelf. Can’t hang dresses or even husbands suit jacket without it being bunched up. Can’t use their hangers to hang elsewhere in room bc they are not regular hangers with a hook top. Mgmt did find us 2 other hangers so we can at least hang 2 garments outside of closet. No place to put luggage other than floor bc the room is sparse if furniture. Very little place to place extra items. Just 1 small desk and bed. Asked mgmt for luggage rack and fortunately did receive at least one (not 2 as needed). Haven’t used shower yet, but it is “roll-in” style, so expect entire bathroom floor to get wet. No towel racks for hand towel by sink. Room overlooks rooftop of other bldg, covered with garbage and garbage bins. No or minimal AC, which is not good given it’s been a hot day. Asked for an electric fan and told they don’t have one. Realize that US hotel standards are not same as European, but even making allowances for things like no electric outlet near mirror in bathroom or crappy hair dryer (like vacuum hose, also not near mirror), our room is a complete disappointment!! We are told no other rooms available and check in the morning. They are nice enough, but can’t fix the problem.
Saving grace for this place is the hotel rooftop bar with spectacular view of the town. We are staying here for a special occasion. Nice is a lovely city, a wonderful location dampened by this horrible room experience.
