Few places in the world are as synonymous with glitz and glamor as the world-famous resort towns of the French Riviera. From sizzling-hot Saint-Tropez to the Belle Époque romance of Nice, France’s Côte d’Azur is an ideal spot for a luxurious getaway. See and be seen on the sun-soaked beaches, sample the exclusive night life, or try your luck with a few hands at the Monte Carlo – however you spend your time here, you’ll be sure to see how the Riviera has set the standard in luxury travel.
Located in Nice la Belle itself, the four-star Nice Riviera Hotel offers comfortable and stylish accommodations, amid turn-of-the-century palaces and grand villas that date back to the period of Italian rule. You’ll find a café, where you can enjoy a cozy drink by an open fire, along with an indoor swimming pool and a wellness center with a Finnish sauna, gym and Jacuzzi. To help acquaint you with your setting, there are views of the Promenade des Anglais, and a continental buffet breakfast is served each morning, with choices of fruit, pastries and cold cuts – the perfect way to gear up for the walk to the old town, flower market and beach, although none is more than a stone’s throw away.
Rooms at the Nice Riviera Hotel are spacious and simply decorated with bamboo parquet flooring and colorful, Mediterranean-style upholstery. Each bedroom has a LCD flat-screen TV.
NIce boasts a stunning old-world opulence, combined with a vibrant and diverse culture, a glamorous nightlife scene and some excellent restaurants, serving fabulous Mediterranean seafood. Just a short walk from the Nice Riviera Hotel is the seafront Promenade des Anglais, which leads to the castle ruins of Colline du Chateau, from where you can get some great views of the town and the sea. Nice also has its fair share of cultural attractions; the Musée Matisse and Musée Chagall are both well worth a look. Of course, if you’re feeling brave, Nice also boasts a huge sweep of beach, which more than makes up for its slight rockiness with the mild temperature of its Mediterranean waters.
How to Get There
The hotel is ideally situated, close to the Old Town, Castle Hill and the Port. Shopping is plentiful and there are numerous restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk. The staff at the hotel were excellent, very friendly and helpful.
This hotel has rooms that are bigger than many in a Europe. I could actually do exercises in my room. The beds are nice and hard. The noise outside the room is often intense but I managed to get good rest. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have a heated indoor pool, which is nice and warm. The location is wonderful for walking to shops and restaurants. I did not find the hairdryer easy to use at all. But the shower is great and the bathroom is large. The room had a small fridge. And the TV had a few English-speaking channels. I recommend this hotel.
First time in Nice and Cote D'Azur. Excellently located hotel for main attractions, station, shops and Promenade d'Anglais.
Hotel was excellent. We arrived early but were able to drop off our bags securely and get some lunch. The lady at reception then rang us when our room was ready.
The room was a standard double which was spacious, clean and modern. A huge bed, lots of wardrobe space and a very clean and well laid out bathroom. There was a slight amount of street noise at night but then you expect that from a centrally located hotel.
There was a small pool and spa at the hotel but we did not use these facilities.
We did not have breakfast but it looked very good.
We found a lovely pattisserie/boulangerie literally 5 mins away that did an excellent petite dejeuner for 6 euro and some amazing filled half brioche baguettes for 5 euros..ideal for popping in a bag and keeping for lunch.
Only slight negatives were pillows in hotel were really soft and there was a strong chlorine smell when you walked in to reception due to the pool..Back stairs carpet was being replaced while we were there and lifts were a little small .Otherwise the hotel was pretty faultless..all staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the lady on reception who directed us to some great places to eat.
Definitely stay here again.
The Nice Riviera is fantastic -- a great base for exploring Nice and further afield. Lovely bath and shower and this time we had a superior room which was great and extremely spacious. All the staff are really helpful, pool's great and so is breakfast. We'll definitely be coming back! Great location near Avenue Jean Medecin, within reach of everywhere including the train station and the front.
Staff were friendly and accommodating. Room was not really 4star, even by European standards. There was a terrible sewerage smell emanating from the pipes in our bathroom which was still evident even with the door shut. The room was mopped and made up each day but this was a very basic room. Breakfast was terrible, just not anything very fresh on offer. Street noise was pretty significant with garbage trucks at what seemed like odd hours of the night?! I would recommend this place if you are just after a bed.
