How to Get There
A beautiful hotel centrally located in Cannes. We had a junior suite which a was spacious and had gorgeous views. We chose it also because it had parking for our rental car (3 spaces) on the property.
Very pretty hotel, close to the sea front and excellent staff - who couldn’t have been more helpful - they really make the hotel special. The rooms were large, well serviced and clean and the pool area was lovely too. The only two negatives I have are in relation to design: 1. No plug sockets near mirrors (in our particular room (309) anyway) and 2. No proper lighting. This I find a common fault in most hotels as I travel a lot for work and applying makeup with Just mood lighting isn’t great. The only other thing was that the ‘gym’ only had a couple of pieces of cardio equipment which was 2 treadmills, 2 cross trainers and 2 bikes. The gym area is small however the addition of a rower would be useful for upper body as there is clearly no room for weights. We didn’t eat at the hotel so cannot comment on this aspect but would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone visiting cannes.
We have literally just returned from a fabulous 3 night break at Le Canberra.
I was very happy to discover that the hotel absolutely lives up to it's many excellent reviews. It's clean, modern and in a perfect location - 10 minute walk/10 minute cab from the train station, less than 5 mins from La Croisette (close to The Carlton) AND it sits on the main shopping street Rue D'Antibes, where you can find slightly more affordable stores from The Kooples and Sandro to Mango and Zara - I couldn't have planned it better!
We visited with our 2 sons aged 5 and 8, who loved the pool and often it enjoyed to themselves. The service was excellent, the staff always attentive and friendly and great with the kids.
So what could make it better..maybe slightly more on offer at breakfast (it was still pretty decent though!) and a few cosmetic touch ups on the outside..but as 4 star hotels go it's definitely one of the best I've stayed at.
An absolute gem of a find, we are planning a second visit already! Thank you Le Canberra!
This is a small, 4-5 star hotel which feels intimate, which is very unlike the big hotels on La Croisette. We have lunch there and the Canberra restaurant menu seems to change daily (also unlike the big hotels - which basically look for tourists and conference attendees to overspend on traditional (and honestly rather boring) French food. Our last lunch was particularly good - aided by beautiful weather and an excellent bottle of rose wine. Service is very friendly and smart and, if you aren't impressed by the white tablecloths (as my wife is) , you will almost certainly appreciate the fine dining and the ambience. Dining here is not cheap by any means but it feels like eating in Cannes ought to feel.
We stayed for 3 nights and the stay was comfortable. Though not a grand place or rooms, the hotel has everything you want for a nice family stay. Never too far away from the shopping area or beachside and walking distance from the station. Courteous and helpful staff. Overall a nice place with the only area of improvement being the view!
