How to Get There
My wife and I spent a lovely couple of days at this very special property. Our room was gorgeous and each detail was carefully and very tastefully selected. The bed was extremely comfortable; the breakfasts were great; our hosts (Cheryl and Kirk ) are very lovely folks who truly enjoy hosting their guests. We are very happy that we discovered this treasure and look forward to a return visit.
For a short stay in West Palm, we had selected this lovely Bed and Breakfast based on previous reviews - and we were certainly not disappointed! It is located within walking distance of City Place, and we found the area very safe for us to travel through. The B & B is a series of rooms, suites, and cottages that seem to intertwine with each other, opening to a lovely center space that has an alley running through it. It is quite a lush area with flowers, palm trees, fountains and landscape lighting. The main house holds the reception area for check in - but this is much, much more than a B & B. This is also Cheryl and Kirk Grantham's home which they lovingly have opened up to us. We had reserved a room within the main house, but upon check in, Yajaira upgraded us to a cottage! We were able to experience what I call "Old Florida" - a small bungelow with a king bed, living room, dining room and fully stocked kitchen. An added bonus was the private patio in the back that opened to a small salt water pool. Yajaira let us look at both areas before deciding which location we preferred. For the extra room, and privacy, we stayed in the cottage. The refrigerator was stocked with a selection of soft drinks and water. Half and Half was in the fridge for coffee. A basket with a few snacks and chocolates were on the counter. It was great to bring leftovers back from the restaurants and warm them up in the microwave the next day for lunch! We had an ample supply of extra towels located in a dresser. The bathroom, although small, had all the amenities we could possibly need. Yahaira left us a note pad in the dining room and told us if we needed anything to write it on the pad and she would take care of it when she freshened up our rooms. We were given an area map with locations of interest marked. Cheryl had sent me a list of restaurants prior to our arrival so that I could check the menus.
One of our favorite parts of the day was heading over to the main house for breakfast. They serve a marvelous breakfast that starts out with a fresh pastry from the Tulipan bakery, followed with fresh fruit (served out of Kirk's mother's crystal goblets), and then a made-to-order entree. And please note that if Cheryl doesn't think you are eating enough - she will send Kirk out to check with you regarding your order! The food is prepared beautifully, and Kirk is the main man to bring your food out to you. We met Francisco as well, who is another part of the Casa Grandview team. He always had a smile on his face and was ready to help. But it wasn't just the food and the lodging that made this place special. We loved talking with Cheryl and Kirk and finding out about the history of the B & B. This is truly a work of their heart, and it is obvious that they care deeply about the property, the guests, and West Palm in general. It was apparent that this wasn't just "a business", this was an extension of them: welcoming, organized, and gracious. We left Casa Grandview not feeling like we had stayed at a B & B, but that we had stayed with some friends - and we know that we will be thinking of them from time to time up here in Indiana and hoping that they are continuing to enjoy life! I know without a doubt that when a time comes to return to the area, Casa Grandview will be the place that we will want to stay. Thanks to all for sharing a piece of your world with us! Both my husband and I enjoyed staying here. We were upgraded to a larger suite and it was very much appreciated. It was beautiful, well equipped and extremely comfortable and clean. Yajaira was so helpful and pleasant and told us how to get around town and suggested places to eat. But the only reason for 4 rating instead of 5 was because of the long wait for breakfast. We were there at 8:30 a.m. , as recommended, but we were not served the omelets we ordered until at least 9:30 on both days that we were there. It was explained that the kitchen is small and can accommodate preparing orders only two at a time. However, the fresh mixed fruit was amazing as well as the pastries. The weather was beautiful while we were there and we sat outside both days. So if the breakfast situation could be figured out, especially when there are several couples staying here, this B & B would rate a 5 every time.
this was our last booking we had made for our holiday, the check in is very professional, a parking bay just over the walk way so made it easy for luggage. me and the wife had been away for 3 weeks in the USA, Cruising, Road trip to the Key's and west and east coast of Florida and wanted our last booking to be perfect before returning to the United Kingdom, thats why the Title of this review is Perfect! as you could not get a better property to stay at, or the location, the team headed by Cheryl made us feel very welcome and enjoyed the loveliest fresh cooked breakfast and that was brought us by Kirk- a lovely man and I only wish I knew about the party Kirk (smiley face). this place is great for walking around, there is some brilliant Tap rooms serving good beer, loads of places to eat and drink so your spoilt for choice, we had 2 days to see Palm Beech so I booked a Segway tour for $150 (info for this is on Cheryl information stand) Segway Sam was our man and he gave as loads of information about area and took us on a really cool guided safe tour on Segways, I can not recommend this enough because if like us you only have 2 days you want the lot right?
This is the second time we have stayed at Casa Grandview. Cheryl and Kirk are wonderful hosts and the property is beautiful and a very good location. Beautiful holiday decorations and very comfy bed.. Will definitely return.
