A Surprising Find!
Reviewed 1 day ago

We chose the Mutiny Hotel based upon reviews and were pleased to find the accommodations pleasant and comfortable as well as centrally located. The hotel is part condo so there are some year-round residents. The rooms are comfortable and clean and there are plenty of great restaurants within walking distance. We didn't know the "colorful" history of the hotel until we got there. At the hotel restaurant/bar, the waiter let us look at the book "Hotel Scarface" which chronicles the Mutiny's history during the crazy 80's. We bought a copy of the book at the front desk and it is a fascinating read. Don't worry, the hotel is now a quiet and peaceful place to stay but it once was the center of attention during the days of Miami Vice. Just about everyone stayed here from rock stars to politicians. What a fun time and it was far more than a hotel or just a room to sleep.

we stayed at this hotel for a week and found it great , clean, tidy helpful staff, pool great area, there was a couple of things i felt should be made , the sun in the winter month is low and the trees around the pool should be cut by about 6 foot this should allow the sun to shine all day , the second thing is the drinks in the bar are london prices we paid £26 for 2 ammeretto drinks and when i complained they did noting about it so we stoped drinking in the bar, if they was to lower the prices more guest would drink there other that than that had a great time

Anniversary Weekend

We booked this hotel for our 35th wedding anniversary and it was amazing. The room, customer service, cleanliness, the amazing food at Table 14, everything was PERFECT!!! I definitely recommend this hotel which is located in the center of Coconut Grove and walking distance to shops and restaurants/bars.

Not a 4 star hotel

After booking here I read that this hotel does not allow guests to check in after 2 AM. Our flight was a late one & I was concerned this would be an issue as there were flight delays due to weather across the nation. I had to call and request a late check in and have them “note it on my account”. Otherwise who knows what would’ve happened. It was my 1st time to experience anything like that. I paid for the room, it should’nt matter what time I want to check in. Our room was extremely outdated, drab, and had an odd and cramped lay out. We requested to be moved to a room with that was updated and with a better view (our view was of a parking garage.) They were conveniently sold out. We asked for a late check out & they gave us a whopping 30 extra minutes. Over all our experience was just OK, not a four-star hotel experience, as we are used to. We would not stay here again.

A special spot for an unexpected layover

Missed our flight to Brazil and had to spend the night in Miami. We decided to go to Coconut Grove where we could find good restaurants and enjoy the shops the next day. This is a perfect location and Sebastian at the front desk could not have been more helpful. The suites are very nice - had a beautiful view. Lovely experience overall. Thanks Sebastian
