How to Get There
I don't know how it got the best reviews. Are they fake? Five star hotel that sends guest down the street to supermarket for a newspaper, after saying they don't have them, not offering even the digital newspaper.
The Reception is with one person on staff all the time that treat guests badly with answer "I don't know" to every question asked. Checking in was very unpleasant, very cold, no welcome. We asked a question and the girl said:" I don't know, I don't leave around this area". The other guy at front desk later one the same thing he answered to other simple questions:"I don't know". It seemed understaffed or maybe they just don't care about service. Also people at front desk seemed very unhappy employees. Expected more than 5 stars as per other reviews, but because of front desk service they should take away the last letter S from 'SLS', which stands for Style Luxury and Service. Sad that this beautiful place (location, decor, swimming pool, contemporary art pieces) lacks so much the notion of service expected from a 5 star hotel. We haven't even been told that there is a lounge area with a terrace up the stairs;found out myself the day we were checking out which made me more disappointed. I even sent an email to COO of the hotel right after the trip, but no replay. I would recommend the hotel to family and friends, but I will give them heads up about the front desk treatment just to don't be shocked as we were.
Also, on the hotel website says:"You're not just a guest, you are an sbe guest". Well, I don't know about that!
The room, the balcony, the magnificent swimming pool...this hotel has all the standards of luxury ....but don't expect more.
my bad experience of their laundry proves that everything is not perfect.
i gave 2 clothes to clean, they put it back directly in the room on the same day..but one of the clothes has been stained by bleach, and we discovered it only back in our country !
the clothes has been bought in MIAMI, a famous brand, they spoiled my clothe and just put it in my room without informing they did a mistake on one of my clothes !
UNBELIEVABLE and UNFAIR practice !
we tried to call the hotel to report it but nobody took the time to listen and they just say we call you back ! BUT no call back
worse and worse : i send an email to SLS BRICKELL on may 16 to explain my bad experience....and i did not receive any answer.
Message to the management : (my stay -room 808 - 3 to 6 may) : i am, we are furious : you have to respect the customers in a 5 stars...and if something wrong is done by your staff, YOU HAVE TO COMPENSATE IT ! you can read my email send on may 16 and answer me ! a minimum of courtesy, please.
Service always ranks high in my travel book, and I was thoroughly pleased with the staff at SLS Brickell. They made my stay so worthwhile and memorable. I visited for my anniversary and asked for a room with lots of light. Rebecca at the front desk upgraded my room with a smile. We ended up with a swag room with a wrap around balcony and lotssss of light. Sadly, I cannot remember the concierge's name (but it had and F in the spelling and it was super unique), but she was phenomenal. She helped us with our luggage and assured us that she'd get us whatever we needed. We really appreciated the warm welcome. Our room was immaculate and trendy. We stopped by the pool to take a look and it is BEAUTIFUL with the cityscape as a backdrop. I will definitely take advantage of it on my next stay. If you want to get away from South Beach and enjoy one of Brickell's charms, I highly recommend staying here. It's also a nice, easy walk to the new Brickell City Centre, which is a whole other glowing review. Choose SLS Brickell. You'll be glad you did.
If I could write a fifty star review for SLS Brickell I would.
I came here to celebrate my daughters graduation from UM.
The staff. Beginning to end. Jojo, Sun, Richard, every person from the bellman to the desk to room delivery was well trained and relaxed and friendly.
The hotel is sleek but not overly so.
Gym and pools are for real.
Room fixtures including phones, televisions, etc are all recent. I could even blue tooth my music to the room.
Bathroom. Well thought out. Lit magnifying shaving mirror.
WiFi easy and fast.
Ok. So you know I am for real. Room service makes terrible iced coffee. That is my only criticism.
Checked into the newest hotel to hit Brickell for a staycation & I have to say I loved it. Its decor in the lobby is so fresh and hip and my room was my perfect. The extras and its location, making it easy to go to Brickell City Centre.
Spent the weekend with my significant other and we ordered the room service and the burger was phenomenal. Perfectly poised in my plush, hotel bathrobe, dining in bed fighting over fries; I was in heaven.
We later went to have dinner at F'ilia downstairs which is the best Michael Schwartz restaurant in my opinion. The table-side Caesar is my weakness.
I was sad to go but my drive home was 30 minutes.
