Think the Magic City action always happens in South Beach? Think again. Historically the local financial district, Brickell is giving SoBe, if you’ll pardon the expression, a run for its money. Curbed recently published the results of a real-estate study finding that main-drag Brickell Avenue is Miami’s hottest street. Vogue, meanwhile, called the area “the lesser-known Miami neighborhood you need to check out” in late 2016. Stylish nightspots have been steadily cropping up since the opening of Blume Nightclub, followed by everyone from the Miami New Times to Haute Living.
In a city where the It bar, lounge and fashion boutique changes as fast, and unpredictably, as the songs on the latest dance remix, a new It destination has arrived, and you’re going to want to check it out. Base yourself Fortune House Hotel, a convenient, comfortable and central base, where each suite comes with a walk-in closet and furnished balcony. You also get access to laid-back Madison’s Restaurant and Lounge, with a host of other eateries just steps away. Oh, yeah – we forgot to mention that Travel + Leisure also called Brickell a burgeoning “restaurant epicenter,” in its article “Miami’s New Food Scene.”
Each suite is spacious and generously appointed, comprising a living room, a dining room, a bedroom, laundry facilities and a bathroom. The pièce de résistance is your furnished balcony, with your choice of views of the city or the water.One-Bedroom Superior and Luxury suites both measure a spacious 650 square feet and offer a king bed in the master bedroom. For 950 square feet and an additional bedroom featuring one queen bed, opt for the Two Bedroom Superior or Luxury suite. In both cases, the recently renovated Luxury options are more upscale than the Superior abodes, with higher-end furniture, appliances and finishes. Luxury accommodations also include one very convenient perk: daily breakfast.
Madison’s Restaurant and Lounge dishes up made-to-order breakfasts, lunches and dinners that bring together contemporary and traditional flavors. Other restaurants abound in the area, specializing in everything from Peruvian to Japanese cuisines.
It’s no longer a secret that Brickell is the new South Beach, and as a Fortune House Hotel guest, you’ll be blocks from many of the venues that have made this neighborhood so happening in recent years. Among them are Mary Brickell Village, a shopping hub that houses jewelers, fashion boutiques, a gelateria and a Rosa Mexicano outpost, and Blume, which was “first true nightclub experience” in Brickell and whose opening was followed by everyone from the Miami New Times to Haute Living. We also recommend visiting the impressive prehistoric Miami Circle. Hop in the car to head downtown or into Little Havana, Coconut Grove or Coral Gables.
How to Get There
The front desk staff is out of this world!! They have such a nice vibe, always willing to assist and make sure you're having a great stay. The waterview suites are amazing! Definitely a 5 star service under $200. Can't wait to go back.
My mother and I booked a two bedroom for two days at the Fortune House. After checking in, the amazing front desk manager Aime upgraded our room to a deluxe suite and helped us with all references including where to watch World Cup and fun tourist spots. The room was clean, AC worked, and Wifi was fast. Overall, very comfortable stay with delightful staff. Looking forward to our next trip to Miami and hope we can stay at Fortune House in the future.
We had a few nice one bedroom suite with a washer & dryer in the unit.
The room was great and the washer & dryer came in handy for washing our clothes before returning home.
There were a few issues we had. First, on the first full day of our stay, the cleaning staff cleaned the room, took all the towels, but didn't leave any new towels. The second day, the cleaning staff didn't clean our room at all.
The other issue is the restaurant is doing renovation, so it was only available for room service.
Finally, the mattress seemed old. It sloped to one side.
We checked in on Friday and stayed for only 1 night. If I knew how beautiful Fortune House was/is, I would have extended my stay for several more nights. Nick B. at registration was very welcoming, polite and exemplified excellent customer service skills. Frank hauled our stuff to our beautiful room on the 22nd floor (the water view was to die for). No doubt I will stay there next time I go to Miami!!
We were able to easily uber to South beach for about $20-25!
Best summer vacation ever. Thank you Ritzel and Karla for your lovely attention. We'll be back soon again ohh Thank you housekeeping for your great attention as well, the rooms were very clean, I'm super satisfied with everything the hotel offers I'm definitely coming back.
