How to Get There
We stayed here one night to see Sebastian Maniscalco at the Barbara Mann Theater about 10 miles from hotel. The grounds are large and lush with plants and trees. There are two hotel towers and they are about 1/4 mile from each other. We stayed in the main tower where all the amenities are, pool, restaurants , gift shop. We are platinum so we were upgraded to a junior suite with partial water views. The room was large , clean and very comfortable with a nice size balcony .
There is a beautiful pool and hot tub available for guests.
There are 4 restaurants on the property. We ate at two of the restaurants and were disappointed at both. We arrived at 2:30 PM and the front desk told us we could go to any of three restaurants for lunch. This was not the case, the Tarpon Room told us they’re were finished serving so we went to the bar and they provided a menu but informed us we could only order from the back half of the menu since it was before 4PM. My husband ordered a burger medium well and it was served rare. We also ordered shrimp cocktail and the shrimp were soggy and soft. My husband could not eat the burger and the server took it off the menu which was fine but we would rather have been able to eat. I had a salad which was good. After our show, we returned and ordered food at the Tarpon House restaurant. Again, the food was fair. For breakfast , we had complimentary continental breakfast in Tarpon House. We arrived and were informed for a $6.00 per person up charge we could have the full breakfast buffet. We opted for this. The buffet was fair, offering made to order omelets, bacon, sausage and pancakes and the usual, cheese, fresh fruit and little else. I asked for a latte and was told it would be another upcharge. Upon check out , when asked how our stay was,I informed the staff, the hotel is great but the food was not good. She apologized and said she would share my feedback. I would still recommend the hotel but I would definitely eat elsewhere.
Goodbye winter weather! Loved this place. The view from the room was wonderful. The food was great and so was the hot tub. What a great long weekend. We happened to have amazing weather too! Happy happy...
Always a great place to stay, wonderful staff, great location on the beach and the pool is really nice too, but the rooms are in bad need of updating.
We’ve been going for years and will continue to go, that being said. The mattresses are like sleeping in a hammock and if 2 people try to sleep in 1 bed, ugh forget about it. The pillows? Nice and fluffy but your head sinks right thru and you're resting on the mattress, we had to buy 2 new pillows to get some comfort but still had hard time sleeping due to the poor condition of the mattress. The dresser was falling apart, the drawers were flopping all over the place like cheap furniture and the bathroom door was pulling away from the wall so much so you had to lift it to close or open it. The outdoor furniture looks okay but like the interior furniture they need to be replaced.
So, if you want an on the beach location with a great staff and that’s it, Sanibel Inn is your place. Looking for all that and a comfortable room to, you might need to look elsewhere.
It’s really difficult to write a poor review because we really like the place but they really do need to update the rooms.
My wife & I visited the spa yesterday. We own a home locally so we decided to go for a nice couples massage. We have been to the spa several times previously but yesterday’s visit was special.
Kayla was one of the people at the front desk and she greeted us. She remembered us from our visit there in October. She asked us if we would like champagne before our massage or after. We chose before so we could relax before our massage.
I had requested Jin whom I have only had once before, but really enjoyed. My wife requested Mijail whom she has had several times and always enjoys. I can say without a question of a doubt that this was the BEST massage I have ever had.
We normally do massages about every other month whether in Northern Virginia, at the Marco island Marriott or at Sanibel Harbor Marriott. We decided to do one in October at the Sanibel Harbor Marriott and then booked yesterday’s. Remembering the massage that Jin gave me about 6 months ago, we booked our massage around
their schedule (Jin and Mijail) so we were sure to have them. Well after being there yesterday, I have booked an 80 minute massage at the end of this month.
It was amazing and we are looking forward to returning as often as possible.
Our family needed a nice beach vacation, so we chose Sanibel. We stayed at the Marriott since Marriott and Starwood have now merged. We enjoyed the resort, the location on the waterway was very pretty and it was close to the beach and other water activity.
The beach was beautiful, with so many gorgeous shells. We also enjoyed the good food and dolphin tour right off the docks in front of the hotel. I know this sounds silly, but we actually were able to see dolphins “mating”, which was a first and my son couldn’t stop giggling.
Nice stay all around, but hotel is a little older so the decor is old FL and could be updated.
Tips: Stay on a higher floor to the left to see the sunset on the gulf. Book your tours in advance and reservations. For the beach, get there early as the parking is very limited and they don’t allow parking anywhere else so you have to sit and wait for someone to leave.
