How to Get There
Absolutely filthy and dirty, dingy, unsanitary hotel. I’m glad that they were able to cancel our reservation because the room was by far one of the most disgusting hotel rooms I’ve personally ever stayed at. Dirty fingerprints everywhere, layers of dust and grime on everything, rust and mold everywhere. Not to mention our bathroom was clearly not cleaned before we checked in as their was hair in the sink and food crumbs in the bathroom. Elevator had not been cleaned in many many months, seriously really gross, too gross to touch the buttons. Hallways carpets full of trash and crumbs, and peeling up. Walls covered in filth and grime. Seems like a place for young kids to have a spring break or something as it was so unsanitary and in shambles.
The first part of our mini get away was a couples massage. The spa area is a bit dated, it felt like I was in the basement of a gym. The girl at the desk was friendly but couldn't answer a few questions I had about the groupon we purchased. We did arrive early and was told they have slots open if we wanted to have our message earlier. We jumped on that as it would give us more time to lounge by the pool. I have to say it was one of the best massages I have received. I can not remember if my masseuse name was Jennifer or Jessica, but she was fabulous! I left there totally relaxed.
The next part was a few days away at the resort for some relaxation. We were greeted at the front desk by Nick . He was very friendly and helpful. We got there earlier than we had planned and did not have a room with a king bed available, we were offered 2 queens which we decided to take it and get settled in. The room was clean had a nice waterfront/pool view. My only complaint is I wish they had a refrigerator instead of the mini bar, although they did give us a key so we could put our waters and beers in to keep them cold. I love waking up in the morning and having coffee on the balcony watching the boats go out. The coffee in the room was pretty good.
The food in the restaurants was good, the service was quick and the waitress's were friendly. We ate in the Tarpon
The service at the poolside bar was great, only wished they stayed open a little bit later. The loaded nachos were so good.
I went for weekend with my daughter and when we checked in the put us in captiva budg, no security, no cameras in parking lot. My car was hit over night and they wash there hands of that, I should have valet parked and had them bring my stuff over but that what happens when you dont do that and still paid for parking
I can't believe this is a Marriott property. they did have coffee free on 2nd floor but by 830 any muffins they put out are gone and they don't replenish them so don't sleep in on vacation there. No security at building present when we go there from dinner at night and didnt like that. All in all I don't think my family will ever stay in Marriott ever again
