An even better stay

As always great stay at the Westin. Newly renovated beautiful rooms and a great vibe at the restaurant. What hasn’t changed is the warm welcome from Storm,as always a big smile and deservingly the employee of the year.
We always appreciate the accommodations at the pool area by Judy and her staff, who look out for their guests that I’ve never seen before.
Miss you Westin. See you in two weeks!

3 days chilling at beach

This hotel, with a south beach exterior, is marvelous with the greatest staff. We were upgraded to a room with a lanai by the pool when we said we were just married,

Although the weather sucked, the staff made up for it with their wondrous attitude

We booked the Westin on hotel points. We were able to upgrade from an intercoastal water view to an ocean view prior to arrival. The room offered a great view. No balcony, but you can open the doors and hear the ocean, catch a breeze, hear the noise below - BUT it will stop the flow of A/C in your room. We were in the second building. Not a big deal, but you do have further to go for some things, but closer to Starbucks! Our room was located right off of the elevator. Never again! Too much noise heard, especially at 3:00am - thank you to the obvious drunk woman for that wake-up call. The room itself was clean and fine, but pretty small for a family of four - two being teenage daughters. I read about the bathroom configuration prior to arrival, and I must agree with the posts - did not like this at all. The barndoor with slates offers zero privacy, and the small window from the bathroom into the bedroom has zero purpose. The bathroom offered little countertop space, and only one hook and one bar in the shower. Also note that these beds are doubles, and not queens. I guess my biggest issue with this hotel was the 1.5 hours we had to wait for towels, and toilet paper to be brought to our room. We were out of our room for five hours spending time at the beach. We returned around 3:00pm, and our room had not been serviced. It took my husband calling one time, visiting the front desk one time, and me calling a second time to finally get these items brought to our room. We could not get ready for the evening because we had no towels. When they were brought to our room, housekeeping did apologize, and were nice, but we should not have needed to call 3x or wait this long. But, I will say that many of the staff we encountered were very nice.

Great View / Average Hotel

Pros: Great view of beach from southern building oceanfront room; nice-sized room; comfy bed; really good tacos and tequila place (Lona)

Cons: Bathroom shower did not drain AT ALL; sympathy and comp for this problem wasn’t very generous; horribly flat pillows (which makes the Heavenly Bed far from heavenly!); 2 bottled waters left in room each day, but only one is complimentary (chintzy at this price point).

Verdict: Might stay here again, but would definitely check out several other hotels on A1A and consider paying higher rate for more luxurious properties (ie Hilton, W, or maybe Conrad).

Westin Fort Lauderdale NOT at its best

Lots a choices in the area this one I would avoid. Impossible to get your car and out of this property. Food at pool was uneatable with poor service to match. Beach location is fine, and request beach view and high floor. Suggest that you stay at the Marriott Harbor Beach or Ritz
