How to Get There
Amazing view! Very clean, very modern! Fresh towels, amazing decor! Bar staff is excellent! Within walking distance to shops, food, and beach! Short scooter ride to the galleria mall, close to the airport
Staff service is amazing! Will I returning!
Stayed for one night for a cruise. Room had amazing ocean views and was very comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful, even going as far as calling after check in to make sure all was well. Food was good and I enjoyed the daily delights. My only issue was the rather thin walls between the rooms. I could hear the adjoining room's television well into the late hours. Additionally, since the hotel is still under some construction, the gym had been relocated to a room next to mine. Because of the thin walls I was woken up around 6am because someone was using the treadmill, and could clearly hear conversations from the gym area for the remainder of my morning. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the stay.
Enjoyed the room from the exceptionally comfortable bed and pillows and amenities in the room. Great shower, and nice desktop/countertop area which served great use during my stay. Carpet was clean and in great condition, room safe and fridge with great housekeeping services. While I understood the pool was under renovation and not available during my stay this hotel has zero outdoor space available other than public beach across A1A during the renovations. This was perplexing as there is a deck directly over the lobby area but it is not used at this time. When I asked why I was given an excuse as to its non use but it's ridiculous that it wouldn't be used when you have no pool, pool deck our any form of outdoor seating during the renovations. There is a $24 per night resort fee and they throw in two drinks at the bar but they only include cheap house wine, domestic beers (bud etc) and well drinks. How cheap is that? They can't splurge on giving you a craft beer or a decent drink. What a joke. As to the gym, they moved it to a room on the 4th floor where if someone else is using one of the three pieces of cardio equipment you are literally on top of them. Its a band aid that fails.I guess the price should have confirmed these issues to me as it was way cheaper than the Westin, Conrad and other luxury hotels in the area. Beach area is great and its a public beach but chairs are available only to Sonesta Guests at no charge, umbrellas are $20.00.If you need a room to get a night's sleep this place is great. If you need anything more, stay elsewhere until the renovations are complete. When they are complete, this is a great place off of Sunrise so way less of a scene than 2 miles South towards Las Olas Blvd.
My cousins and I stayed overnight at Sonesta before a weekend cruise. Staff were welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. The rooms were clean and modern with breathtaking views of the ocean (if you're on the beach side of the hotel). The elevator was the only complaint. There were long waits, and often time the Service Elevator was the only one working. The elevator didn't seem to recognize occupancy, and doors would not shut, forcing us to wait several minutes within the 24 hrs. we were there. No complimentary breakfast, but if you wanted breakfast it was available for a cost of course. The parking is horrendous, so be prepared to have extra change to park on the street. Street parking is not free, and heavily enforced.
I did not realize that the sonesta was an area I use to hang out from many years ago until I arrived. the parrot bar around the corner was still there. hotel was great and a great location. plenty of uber to take me where I needed to go. property was recently refreshed and easy on the eyes.
