How to Get There
The problems began upon pulling up to the very entrance of the hotel. We were told that there is a $45 (plus tax) PER NIGHT parking fee and that there is "no self parking." We were forced to submit to this, incurring $180 in parking fees. But that's just the beginning. They also charge a $35 "resort fee" which includes towels and chairs, but an umbrella is $25 extra. It also includes a KEURIG instant coffee machine in the room. Totally ridiculous! The front desk staff is friendly enough, but when the housekeeping staff was slamming doors repeatedly at 5pm when we were trying to nap and I asked them when they would be finished slamming doors, they scolded me: "Don't talk to me like I'm your child!" Be reminded that we are paying over $250 per night to stay in this hotel. The location is good and the views from the rooms are excellent, but the hotel is also under a major renovation and any careful traveler would STAY AWAY from the place until things change. Most of all, they have to learn that price gouging customers is not sustainable in the long run (I plan to dispute my credit card for their hidden parking fees), and if they are going to impose a "resort fee" it must include more than a few towels, a Keurig instant coffee maker, and two small bottles of water per day. This is an example of a place that explicitly contemplates ways to con customers with required fees upon arrival (note that the "resort fee" cannot even be declined) and if you decide to reject their $45 a night parking scheme you are out of luck as there is no parking within miles of the hotel (we came from New York). Finally, we had left the room from 730am-330pm and, upon returning, our room was STILL not made up. I remind you again that our baseline room rate is $250 per night. Could not be disappointed and will do anything and everything to make sure those I know and do not know will not patronize this establishment. Shame on them for stuffing hidden fees that guests cannot decline upon arrival. Once again, STAY AWAY unless your cash flow is endless. As I write this, I am still on the property, but wish I could find a motel nearby...I am convinced I would be treated with much more respect and receive much more for my money.
Joe is wonderful and very engaging with us. Makes the best mojito and we will be back because of him. The best bartender ever. He treated us as a family he remembers our names every time he sees us. Definitely coming back next year. Thank you Joe for the best experiences ever.
We stayed for 2 days after a cruise and the staff were friendly. Joe the bartender was exceptional and made us feel welcome, remembered our names each time we saw him and his drinks were great! The hotel was very clean, the room had a gorgeous view of the beach across the street and was very updated and clean. All in all it was a great time, the outdoor pool was recently renovated and very nice to hang out at when not at the beach.
Well, it is nice. We had a god room with a view. Everything was clean. The checkinwoman at night was not nice. There are nice restaurants very close and a Seven Eleven not far.Parking is expensive, what can you do.
We had a great time in Fort Lauderdale albeit short we really were pleased with Rafeal’s Service on the beach, he was extremely attentive and helped with our every need. The area was great with lots of places to eat within walking distance.
