Terrific Staff

Arrived in the midst of Spring Break, completely unaware of the festive atmosphere. We were looking for a few quiet days at the beach which is usually why my go to place is “TRP”. When I explained this to Lucy (wonderful, helpful, very funny) the front desk manager both her and Sergi the hotel manager were so helpful in trying to RE-accommodate us at another one of their quieter properties.
I will definitely return to Royal Palms next time. It’s a charming property, so close to the beach and if I haven’t already stressed has wonderful customer service.

Horrible experience

This place has rules but no enforcement. IDGAF that it's spring break.
1) 9pm rule for noise but they kept the bar open until at least 1130pm with music.
2) When the room next door started playing loud music somewhere around midnight, not only could we not find anyone on the premises, but the number given to call on paper with said rules was wrong and/or disconnected.

Don't stay here, ever.

Paid parking is rediculous

This is an apartment hotel. $10 a night for parking is ridiculous. Then when my friends came they wanted more money $20 for someone to come in visit for a couple hours. It’s a real turn off to me. This hotel is not well kept. It’s worn out. No microwave in room. Refrigerator old and leaking water.

It use to be a good hotel 5 years old what happened.

Some calmness close to the beach

I have spend far too much time in chain hotels.. for work.. so it's always great to spend time in a place that homely...

We had a wonderful welcome.. and I had booked a one bedroom suite.. and certainly for the price it was well worth it..

There are couple of pools to relax in, and it amazed us that in this locality.. it's so peaceful and quiet..

My room itself was very spacious and in great order.. one criticism.. there was some noise outside from an air conditioning unit.. but apart that.. it was clean and safe..

One tip there is a great food truck at the back.. lots of great food and drinks there

Just a few tweeks could make this hotel an AMAZING place

Location is really good. Lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The beach was only a block away, so that was convenient. Pools were fairly clean and nice. The room itself was good. We had a room with a king bedroom, then a kitchen and living area. The room was listed as having a full kitchen--no oven. Maybe that is standard, but a more representative description would have been a 2 burner cooktop, fridge and microwave. If you provide a kitchen, how about having a dish drainer and dish soap? And dish towels? We had to use bath towels, but not a deal breaker. The sofa pulled out into a bed (Great-we had 2 children with us) The sofa had some stains/water marks or something on it. I didn't think much of it until we pulled the cushion up to store the bed linens the next morning, and there was a condom wrapper in the storage area. (now I wonder what the stains really were!) And the storage area was filthy! Crumbs, dust and hair in it--YUK! On 2 of the mornings we were there, it sounded like the people upstairs were moving furniture for about 2 hours!! And one night there was a DJ party in our building. Someone had rented 2 rooms for the night and invited half of Ft. Lauderdale to party at our hotel. Management was called, but did nothing,. Eventually the police came and things calmed down.
It took a long time each day to have our room cleaned. We were there for 5 nights and only had our room swept once, and the bed was only made once. This was on the last day we were there, about 5 pm. One morning we went to the front desk and got a broom and swept it ourselves. We had to get pool towels to use for bath towels.
Would I stay here again? Maybe. I would like to see management use this review as a means to make some upgrades and put a bit more attention to room service and cleanliness. It could be a real diamond, but for now it leaning toward the lump of coal status!
