Historical property, Boathouse has great food, but not a good place for sleeping
Reviewed 3 days ago

I love that it's been there since the 30's, so I wanted to stay there. On the down side, Our room was clean, but we could never get it cool enough, and the hotel didn't have any fans. (I actually ended up ordering one on Amazon, I was so hot!) The weather outside was low 70's, so this was surprising. The bed wasn't very comfortable, and, the pillows were terrible! Out of our 4 day stay, the pool was closed for 3 days. Very disappointing. On the up side, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great location. The boathouse restaurant by the pool was very laid back, reasonably priced and the food was really good! Thanks Jaime for all the friendly banter!

Great Location for dining and nightlife

The cheapest roadside motel provides unlimited fee coffee in their reception area, Riverside doesn't have free coffee anywhere and their restaurant doesn't open until 7 AM. The coffee machines in the rooms are a joke. Most cheap hotels have Keurig coffee makers in the room. Riverside provides cheap Mister Coffee makers probably from the late 1990's and horrible coffee packs. UGH!
Location is perfect, rooms are very old, staff is polite, premises clean. Not worth $350 a night for a room with a view of roof air conditioners and walls.

Great Hotel, Noisy Sidewalk

Second time at this hotel - stayed prior to a cruise. From check-in to checkout everything and every employee were great. Room was comfortable and quiet. However, there was a band playing in front of the hotel that not only was way too loud but dancers blocked pedestrians, forcing them into busy Las Olas. Not real classy.

A1A half marathon stay over
Reviewed 6 days ago

We reserved through Expedia at this hotel because the marathon website claimed it was only 200 yards from the start-it was 7/10 of a mile away-not the hotel’s fault obviously. When we checked in we were told we got an “upgrade” to a tower room. I was like ok sounds weird but we’ll take it. The room was over $300/night so fine. We get to the room -it big and it’s an accessible room-no tub. When we showered the shower head kept shifting left no matter what we did and virtually the whole bathroom ended up covered in water all the way to the carpeted room. We cleaned it up- very frustrating. No shelving for soap/shampoo either. The beds were very soft with some holes/dents (?) so needless to say we did not sleep well and with a half marathon early the next day we were tired and disappointed. Very disappointed.

Nice older hotel. Could use some updating. Neat that it is right on river where you can watch all sorts of boats from yachts to water taxis. Had a river view room with small balcony. Overall pretty clean, bed was comfortable enough. Housekeeping needs to clean the balcony it was very dirty. I also found hairs in the corner of the tub yuk. Employees are friendly and helpful. It is very convenient to Los Olmos blvd and restaurants and shops. I would have to say the workout area was the best newest and clean.
