Old fashioned hotel

Its rooms were very large and relatively comfortable but cleanliness could have been better. Breakfast was good but it was not excellent. Dinner at The Boathouse was excellent and very good - the scampi/lobster was really tender as was the Beef burger - plus 2 glasses of red wine at half price!

Classic and Convenient to Las Olas and the Nu River.

This is a classic hotel of big size rooms and comfortable beds, an attentive staff from arrival to checkout. The suggestions of staff were both helpful and spot-on for restaurants and things to do in the local area. All accomplished with or without a car.

A Pre-Cruise Treat!

We chose to stay at Riverside Hotel prior to our recent cruise. It is in the center of what's happening. One can choose to stroll Las Olas Blvd, enjoying the windows of high end shops, listen to the music at various eateries and watch as those who like to dance in the street just appear, making the place a buffet of wonderful experiences. If you have ever visited and enjoyed the La Rumbla in Barcelona, you will feel right at home on Las Olas. Late into the night there are people walking about enjoying all that is engaging their senses. As for the Riverside Hotel there is nothing to stay but "Wonderful". From the time I spoke to Glen on reservation who was so very helpful and chatty, to being greeted at the front door, through a speedy and friendly check-in at the front desk, until entering the quiet of our lovely room with a balcony over looking the waterway, until we reluctantly said good-bye, every moment was perfect. You are in the heart of eateries so there is lots to choose from and as well the restaurants in the hotel were worth checking out. The rooms are truly sound proof. As you walk through the hotel you feel you enter into an other era of life with modern day convenience. I kept wondering if there was an Ernest Hemmingway some where enjoying the ambiance of the hotel while writing his next manuscript with the piano music nudging his imagination unto paper. It was that kind of place! The pool which is just across the road was lovely. A great bar and restaurant also belonging to the hotel is part of "The Boat House". You can easily pass the day away sitting at the pool, cooling off, reading or playing a favourite game of cards. At night the waterway is lit up by the boats going by. We so enjoyed sitting on the balcony of our room which offered comfy furniture to enjoy our early morning lattes purchased from the Italian Bakery across the street. You can catch a water taxi right outside the hotel. It truly smacks of faraway Venice. You can even get a gondola if you wish. The water taxi will drop you at any of the eateries along the canal. Two nights was not enough. One could be entertained easily for a longer stay, and The Riverside proved to be a great beginning to our cruise. Riverside let us have a late check out and we used their Cruise ship terminal Shuttle at a cost of $20.00 to get to the terminal quickly and without extra charges. The hotel is between the Airport and the Terminal.....not a long distance at all. Would love to go back to Florida just for a stay at the Riverside Hotel.

Beautiful Hotel!

Beautiful hotel in a great location, close to restaurants and shops. Also easy trip to Port Everglades. We had a corner room with balcony and when we were not too happy with the view from that side of the building (construction), they changed us to the river side. Very pleasant and good experience!
