How to Get There
Overall my 8 year old daughter and I were pleased with this hotel. It was clean, convenient, and provided an overall sense of safety; which was very important since we were traveling alone . However there was a small hiccup in our stay. Early one morning around 7:30 am I received a call directly to my hotel room from someone who claimed to be an employee at the hotel. He stated there was a "power surge" at the hotel that was attempting to strengthen the electricity. As a result all my data was removed from the computer system and therefore he needed my personal information since I booked through a third party. I proceeded to comply and the person stated my information was updated and that he had to call others in the hotel. Well about a couple hours later I received a call from my bank stating at someone in Mississippi was attempting to charge $1,500 on my credit card; which I disputed as total fraud. I spoke to hotel management regarding the call about the power surge and I was told that this was a scam and that others in the hotel had experienced the same situation. Hotel management was very accommodating and reversed all incidentals from my card which left me with a zero balance at check out. I really appreciate her courtesy during that time. She was truly a blessing to me.
My room was very clean and the maids were great. I did have a towel, that at my house I would have tossed out, I do expect more from Hyatt. The hotel amenities lacked a bit for a resort hotel in my opinion but it was close to the beach and the valet guys were great.
Just got back from HRCBR. This was my second stay at this resort. This is a very nice hotel. The staff was great. The bar staff, servers, and front desk staff were all friendly.
This hotel is on the beach and there are many places to eat within walking distance. The beach was pretty as always. I rented a cabana or umbrella each day from the city of Clearwater Beach for $35/$40 a day depending on type chosen. I did not have to drag my beach chairs etc to the beach each day. Very convenient. The Pier at sunset was also fun.
My only “complaint” would be the resort fee. I understand they are common but for $32 a day, I think it is a little costly for two bottled waters. The list that explains the fees seemed ridiculous to me.
I am planning to return next year to make it three trips down!
Weather was not the best.. tropical storm brewing in the gulf.. and our toilet had it’s own tropical storm.. overflowing out of the bathroom into the front hallway.. BUT.. we were moved to another room very quickly and went about our wet weekend.. at least the new room remained dry!
We stayed at the Hyatt for a week and had a great time. We are not sun lovers, but still had a great time in the resort and at Clearwater. We had breakfast, lunch and dinners at the resort and enjoyed them all. Crossing the street for the ocean is super easy along with renting chairs and cabanas, charge it to your room! Hotel pool had an afternoon DJ and a pool attendant came around with ice creams for all to enjoy. It was a nice little extra. The spa was also very nice, I enjoyed my spa afternoon! And I would like to also mention that housekeeping came everyday without an issues. (we have stayed at other top name hotels and at 5 o'clock when we returned to our room it had still not been addressed!!) This was our this Hyatt stay and we will definitely stay at a Hyatt again.
