How to Get There
The hotel is nice and all the members of the stuff are doing their absolutely best to accommodate all your needs and requests. But you have to know that rooms “ocean front view” do not have an ocean from view. Master bedrooms are facing a neighbor building and second bedrooms are facing north, the channel, not the beach and ocean.
The Ritz-Carlton tower is located just next to the bridge and you will hear the noise even on the top floors.
The Ritz-Carlton is running just a side section and not related to the towers that you may consider as the hotel on the pictures in internet.
My wife and I chose this property based on its exclusive location, my status with RC (Marriott), and wanting to be pampered for four days getting some fun and sun in Miami Beach area. We deliberately wanted to be away from the normal beach craze of South Beach. It was never more than a 20 min Uber ride away.
The staff here is warm, friendly, and very accommodating. Professional. The sole restaurant is more than enough to provide breakfast and dinner for one of your nights (trust me - I was pleasantly surprised how delightful the food and service was/very romantic to boot).
We were upgraded to a suite based on my loyalty status. It was immensely spacious and provided us with two decks to enjoy the views.
The pool area is enjoyable. Attendants are there (shout out to Ezekiel and Cesar) to set up your lounge chair and provide the necessities for a relaxing day. The dining area next to the pool has a great menu and drink selection. While the cabanas look interesting, we didn't see the need. We spent a day at the beach and it was equally enjoyable. There are plenty of RC folks roaming the area to ensure you're looked after.
We took advantage of the complimentary transportation to dinner and the shops nearby.
Be warned if you want/need a busy beach vibe this is not the place for you. This property is very reserved, quiet, and given the room count you do not feel crowded or as though you're at a resort. I enjoyed seeing the same families/couples who were seeking the same peaceful atmosphere.
As an avid business traveler, I am constantly inundated with noise, delays, crabby staff, etc. This trip was a planned refuge for my wife and I and it did not disappoint.
I've been a huge loyal fan of the Ritz-Carlton and this property came through on all fronts between service, accommodation, food, amenities, etc. Simply fantastic and we will be back for sure. It gets my strongest recommendation.
Excellent service and facilities at this beach front property. All the rooms are large and spacious. The fitness facility and spa are outstanding. Have great yoga classes at the spa. Staff at the hotel are exceptional and friendly.
This is our second spring break with friends and family staying at The BH Ritz. The pool staff (Ezequiel and Natalie especially) are so charming, professional and attentive! The front desk staff is amazingly lovely and accommodating. The head executive chef was extremely talented and creative with the fresh catch of mutton snapper that we caught and they kindly prepared for us!!! Felipe, who is the concierge, is so helpful, knowledgeable and friendly! We also love Frances with his lovely service at the afternoon tea bar and Sharon, who was our fabulous server during breakfasts! We are Ritz devotees thru and thru!
We normally stay at the St. Regis Bal Harbour, which always exceeds my expectations. I was not expecting much after my last stay at another ritz Carlton property, and based on reading some of the previous reviews on TripAdvisor. However, after spending five nights at this property, I was overjoyed to see that they still follow the principles of “the ritz Carlton way.” I had read that book 10+ years ago, where they teach their employees real five star customer service, and thought that it had gone by the wayside. It is live and well at the Bal Harbour location. It is a smaller hotel property, with only 90 rooms. Our room had a great view of the beach and thoroughfare. The layout of the room is a bit awkward, but the room itself is nicely appointed. Although the hotel was 100% occupied, it felt as if we were the only patrons there. The beach service is friendly but I found that I had to go to them to place an order rather than them come to my lounge chair. Jocelyn was a standout and always got our complicated orders correct. At the pool, we had David, who always greeted us by name, and always went above and beyond to accommodate us. Genesis was also great at the pool. We ordered room service one day and they told me the wait time would be 90 minutes for dessert. It came quicker than that, and Yasser called to comp our desserts, due to the wait. Another day, we ordered a snack from room service, and our server, Carlos, happened to notice that we had baseball stuff in our room. He took it upon himself to bring a baseball themed dessert for our son. This level of customer service brought back my faith in the ritz Carlton way. It was a lovely stay and too short, but we will return for sure.
