How to Get There
We stayed on the third floor. Great view of the beach. I love the chairs on the balcony. The room was always clean and the beds are comfortable. I like this property. It has everything you need for a relaxing beach vacation.
We enjoyed the watercolor inn! The service from the valet and front desk is extremely welcoming and the turn down cookies are delicious! The umbrella service is convenient even tho it’s pricey and the umbrellas are so close to each other. The pool was full of toddlers and my boys, 11 and 9, did not want to swim in it. Location and free bikes were great!
This was our first stay at WaterColor Inn. We enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was on the fourth (top) floor with a great view of the Gulf. The room was clean and modern. The shower was spacious with plenty of supplies renewed twice daily if needed. Towels were plentiful and luxurious. There was a very comfortable king-sized bed with loads of pillows and soft sheets. The room also included a pullout sofa bed. Our adult children found it comfortable.
The main attraction is the private beach with sugar-white sand and scenic dunes. Beach sets are additional and include two chairs and an umbrella. Make arrangements early and prepare yourself for the price. It is worth the money though.
Guests of the inn have access to kayaks and paddle boards at no cost on the lake for an hour at a time. Bicycles are also available at no additional cost.
Food and drinks can be purchased on the property at three locations. The menus are a bit limited and food and beverages are pretty expensive. The room did have a modest sized refrigerator but no stove or microwave. Get some groceries to cut down your expenses.
Free parking was available on site. We were able to get a spot every day without fail. Seaside is within walking distance. The airport at Panama City is about forty minutes away.
All-in-all, this was a great first visit. Very relaxing.
After dropping our daughter off at camp, we wanted a romantic getaway in the area between Destin & Panama City Beach, FL. Although I couldn't decide which hotel to commit to from checking online and reading the reviews, we decided to just wing it and wait and see what we thought upon arriving. We were torn between two final hotels but stopped at the Watercolor Inn first. Needless to say they had us at HELLO! From the moment I got out of the car, I was warmly greeted and then graciously Michael at the front desk offered for us to see the room before committing - - how nice - just genuine friendliness from both the Front Desk staff! No doubt we were staying. Our room was awesome on the 4th floor. The hotel has a classic ocean vibe and the Gathering Spot was perfect for dinner and drinks. Plus they had a singer/acoustical guitarist performing while we dined. The pools are beautiful. The beach is the best. The staff are all so super friendly and professional. We took advantage of the bikes and all they offered. If you want to be assured of money well spent then book here! You will not regret it. Thank YOU Watercolor Inn staff for a great stay. We will be back!
If you want to stay somewhere where this little to no kids, this is the place. The customer service is 100% from the time you pull up to the front door, valet personnel call you by name each and every time you come and go as do the front desk personnel. The first room we had for 3 days was on the bottom floor which you cannot see the ocean from but its just a few steps away from the private pier that only the Inn guests can use. We had fresh baked cookies each night and complimentary robes, slippers and beach bag in the room. The beds are like sleeping on clouds, the room was very clean and maintained, the shower is big enough for 4 people... not that we would shower with 4 people... ha ha. We loved it there so much that we decided to stay an extra night, which we had to pack up and move to another room which was absolutely amazing. We were on the 3rd floor with an ocean and sunset view, and a wrap around deck. I strongly recommend the upper floors for the view. They also have complimentary bikes, so we biked to Seaside each day and evening, As for the beach chairs that we rented, they were uncomfortable and on top of each other, I would recommend bringing your own. The sand is like powder and the ocean is 100% better than the Atlantic which is where we live. We enjoyed the breakfast at the Inn and Margaritas!!! I can't wait to return next summer.
